One of the greatest mysteries of the Amazon rainforest is the Amazonian dark earth. Unlike the surrounding poor tropical soil, Amazonian dark earth is a fertile black soil found across around 3-4% of the Amazon rainforest. This soil contains fragments of charcoal, pottery, bones, & other organic material. The Amazon has long been thought of as pure wilderness with only a scattered population of indigenous people. However, the extent of this soil shows that a great deal of human effort went into making infertile soil fertile. The changes made to the soil are still the subject of research & hold lessons for modern soil management. Perhaps the Amazon was once home to a much larger population than we ever thought. The Amazon is not entirely natural; it has been modified by human activity to a significant extent. People planted desired trees, modified soils, & changed landscapes. The dense canopy of the Amazon holds the mystery of a lost civilisation. There are still many answers hidden in the dark, green shade of the Amazon canopy.

#Breaking : ECI Sources: Both the Election Commissioners and the Chief Election Commissioner have *unanimously* approved the SIR Orders for Bihar, SR Orders of Assam, SIR Orders for 12 States/ UTs and SIR orders for 19 States/ UTs. The approved SIR orders include the Declaration Form to be submitted alongwith Form 6 for new voters to be added to reduce paper work and for the ease of citizens. This is in line with Section 21(3) of the RP Act 1950 and has also been upheld by the Supreme Court.
