The legacy cartel traded its credibility for partisan propaganda, and the American public permanently revoked its trust. The monopoly is broken, the curtain is down, and their authority will never return.

Important to note that Jack Smith knew he had judges--including Beryl Howell and Jeb Boasberg--in his back pocket. They not only conducted zero oversight of his rogue operation, they quickly issued nondisclosure orders for several subpoenas including Howell's egregious NDO on Smith's demand for the president's Twitter data, which clearly violated Trump's executive privilege rights (as the DC appellate court noted after it was too late.) One way to fix this is to revise the Stored Communications Act to require judges to perform more due diligence before authorizing an NDO. The judge should be required BY LAW to attach any findings of potential obstruction or threats to witnesses if the target is notified of the search--and certainly any evidence of the target representing a flight risk, as Howell did in the Twitter case (only to pull it back before the documents went public.) This--along with impeachment of those judges--can put an end to this in the future. But unfortunately we've seen no action on any front to hold the judges, who are ultimately responsible for conducting oversight of these matters, accountable.

The reaction to the merger by the trades and Hollywood tells you all you need to know about why everything fell apart. The people used to matter because box office mattered, ratings mattered. But once they no longer did Hollywood walled itself off and cut off its audience. Why? Because half of them voted for Trump and they treat people who voted for Trump like human garbage. You can't be in service of yourselves and expect people to care much. Streaming was always the solution. Netflix the perfect cure for Hollywood's utopia/dystopia. Box office would never matter so the people would never matter. It might have all gone that way, theaters vanishing, but in the merger we at least have a fight. We have something to shake up the monopoly. I am shocked no one sees that or writes about it. It would not have gone through if people who live in the real world did not see it as a good thing. The "resistance" isn't over but it didn't kill Hollywood. Hollywood lives to see another day thanks to a "billionaire."

As of September 23, nearly two weeks after the climatological peak of Atlantic hurricane season, 2026 has produced zero hurricanes and an Accumulated Cyclone Energy (ACE) of just 6.3... about 92% below the 1991–2020 average for this point in the season. And ACE matters. ACE is Accumulated Cyclone Energy. Instead of simply counting storms, it incorporates how strong they are and how long they maintain tropical-storm or hurricane-force winds. A weak, short-lived tropical storm contributes very little ACE; a powerful hurricane lasting many days contributes a lot.
