Older saints have a high and holy vocation. Titus 2 calls older men to be “sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness,” and older women to teach what is good. Psalm 92:14 promises that the righteous “still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green.” The Lord does not intend for His seasoned servants to spend their final chapters marinated in fatalism, but to walk in the joy of the Lord, which is their strength (Nehemiah 8:10). The doom-and-gloom era has performed a valuable service in exposing real darkness and institutional failure. However, a steady diet of it without the full counsel of God can produce paralysis rather than perseverance. Scripture acknowledges tribulation, “In the world you will have tribulation", but immediately adds the triumph: “But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). We are called to be salt and light (Matthew 5:13-16), not mere spectators of decline.

Suddenly theology and religion matter. Funny how that works.

I have no idea

Agents seized cash, gold bars, multiple aircraft, and luxury items from Yuma doctor Irfan Fazil after he was caught defrauding Arizona's Medicaid program of $36.5 million. He'll spend the next 7.5 years in prison and will pay back every dollar he stole from taxpayers.

I can read this every day. The Gospel of Jesus Christ God made you. He loves you. And He wants you to know Him. But we have all sinned and fallen short of His glory. Sin separates us from a holy God, and the wages of sin is death. The good news is this: God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, Jesus Christ. Jesus lived the perfect life we could not live, died on the cross in our place, and rose from the dead on the third day. He paid the debt we owed and conquered death so that we could have eternal life. Salvation is not earned by good works. It is the gift of God, received by grace through faith. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Turn from sin. Trust in Christ alone. He is the way, the truth, and the life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” — John 3:1
