Early voting is underway in Texas, and U.S. Attorney Aaron Reitz just put election cheaters on notice. His district runs from Houston down the Gulf Coast to the Rio Grande Valley, about 10 million people. He's appointed election officers to work with DOJ monitors at key polling places, set up a process with the Texas Secretary of State and Attorney General to take credible referrals, and lined up help from DHS and the FBI. His rule is simple. Only eligible voters vote. No noncitizens, no barred felons, no foreign meddling and no crooked local officials. "If you violate federal election law, I will hunt you down and prosecute you." That's how you protect an election.
