Growth is achieved through a state of "comfortable discomfort".
Accepting a measure of discomfort as a good thing and having safe environment in which to act on it leads to positive results.
Get Comfortable With "I Don't Know"
Most people have an inherent discomfort with saying "I don't know."
Change that. Embrace what you don't know.
The world would be a much better, more efficient place if everyone were more willing to admit the gaps in their knowledge.

Bad leaders cause as much or more destruction than good leaders cause benefits to organizations. This meta-analysis shows destructive leaders undermine satisfaction, well-being, commitment, and performance. Plus bad leadership spreads, as their abusive approaches are copied!

While I agree with the statement as a reality, it more or less disgusts me.
Cheap talks (self-promotion by asserting you are good at something without evidence) gets you selected as a leader. This paper finds that women are less likely to use assertive language because they are worried it will backfire, though cheap talk worked well for both men & women.
tldr; scientific papers and studies are mostly made up findings (_interpretations_ of data, at best - not necessarily facts)
Your job is to have doubt and ask questions.
