Dessie needs to calm down. His comments verge on incitement. This is precisely the type of behaviour the ECtHR law makes clear must not be rewarded. It enhances the positive duty on the state to facilitate and protect peaceful assembly.

This woman is an opportunist. She did not call for the Secretary of State to sack the Parades Commission a few weeks ago when they royally messed up. Instead, she and her party misjudged what any lay person could see coming down the tracks, and now she's bouncing on a bandwagon. She should go back to Dublin (where she lives far away from the tension the rest of us have to live with) and let the court deal with the issue.

Nationalists must realise the days of sectarianism, bigotry and supremacy are over. In an issue of conflicting rights, a balanced outcome has been determined. Northern Ireland belongs to everyone. In an equal society, you do not get a veto of the human rights and cultural freedoms of others.

This is embarassing. Just pure anger and bluster. This is a display of Sinn Fein on the back foot and without a plan.

If Sinn Fein refuse to abide by the law, and resort to their old ways (some of us always knew the language of rights etc was always just a trick) then the Executive will be unsustainable. Sinn Fein Ministers in particular are bound under the Ministerial Code to comply with the rule of law. What has happened to the ‘First Minister for all’? The whole facade upon which SF has built their ‘peace processing’ strategy has collapsed. It’s fallen apart. The labels of ‘rights’, ‘respect’ and ‘equality’ are shown for what they always were in nationalism’s vocabulary- just words which actually mean ‘unionism must give, and nationalism must get’. This is not just about a parade; it has shown the whole edifice of the ‘process’ for what it is, and SF for who they really are.

This is an important time. We must stand up for the rule of law & building a rights based society, with the core principles of equal rights for all, tolerance & pluralism. It is understandable that after 30 years of supremacism, that some in nationalism have found it hard to come to terms with the recognition of basic human rights for those they hate, but the Portadown District approaches this issue in a spirit of goodwill and respect to their neighbours. Their parade will be lawful, peaceful and dignified.

Someone needs to stage an intervention. She’s completely lost the plot. Look at the hate and anger. It’s time Mary Lou headed on back to the Republic of Ireland & stopped her irresponsible aggressive threats.

This is the same supremacist who calmly told everyone there would never be a parade permitted. We can pay little heed to his hottakes.

Nationalists pleading with a British Government to intervene in, as nationalists would claim, “Ireland”. Remarkable. They really don’t like the law when it doesn’t go their way.

All unionists and loyalists should remain calm, peaceful & stay off the streets. Do not become involved an any disorder or rise to the provocation. We simply want a rights-based society, and nationalism has psychologically had a complete tantrum at the realisation our community have rights. This is a legal matter, and it is now for the rule of law to face down the aggression, thuggery and irresponsible behaviour of nationalism, and Sinn Fein in particular.

The whole edifice of nationalism’s language of ‘rights’, ‘equality’ and ‘tolerance’ has collapsed. After 30 years, one legal case has exposed them and put an end to it. The balaclava has slipped.

Huge questions for unionism’s continued participation in the Executive with these people. The first time the law hasn’t gone the way of the supremacists, the balaclava slips. It’s now a stand off between the rule of law, and the rule of nationalist supremacism.
