What a moment yesterday, launching the Right to Food Commission’s report and roadmap.
The report sets out clearly why 14 million people across the UK are food insecure and the political decisions needed to reverse this national scandal.
It has been one of the greatest honours of my life to listen to communities across the country and work alongside our brilliant commissioners and team to make this report a reality.
Our communities cannot continue living under the scourge of hunger. It is utter madness to damage the future of our country by refusing to confront poverty and the social devastation that it causes right across the UK.
Not to mention the monumental economic costs as a result of food insecurity and people not eating well.
The Prime Minister has rightly called for a change of path after 40 years of failed neoliberalism. There is no greater example of that failure than the fact over 14 million of our people are insecure about food.
Our report captures exactly why that change is so urgently needed.
We now look forward to working with the Prime Minister and the Government to deliver a Right to Food for all.

Ken Griffey Jr. has called Bo Jackson the greatest athlete he ever saw, and he has told stories about Bo for years. A widely circulated Griffey clip from 2017 gets into that admiration directly.
Griffey himself was one of the most naturally gifted athletes baseball has ever seen. So when he talks about Jackson like he was operating on another level, the compliment carries a little more weight.
Currently juggling three excellent books, so I'm not sure which one I'll review next on Ellroy Reads.
Which one would you prefer me to review? piped.video/post/Ugkx5FuAOuK…
Morgan Freeman was not wrong when he said, "Become a man who can face a breakup. lose a job. deal with debt and still say, ‘God is with me. I’ll figure it out."
This is just a friendly reminder any form of suffering early in your life will grow into your greatest gift. Loss, failure, health issues. These will shape your character more than any personal development book or habit stack.
