Keep it simple stupid A trader came to me with excuses about how he can’t get his end of month trades to be analysis automated. Hey trader: KISS: take your written daily report of trades and ai or manually drop into excel every day at end of day. Monthly analysis ready each day

Sitting down with traders and trainees after a long summer The people who need the strongest corrections are almost always underperforming in their process: poor analysis, low trade frequency, low screen time, low work rate and effort, and poor innovation Good process = results

What’s been going on this summer?! I come back from vacay and can borrow money at cheaper rates than the US govt.

Vacay mode. Only trading my best setups. Hit rate has skyrocketed, almost no losers. Less work, more pay. Awesome! Do this all the time? Nope. Trading the lower % stuff is how I find the great stuff. Low work, high results? Fuggetaboutit. Hard work makes the dream work.

Folks ask how I deal w/down days: 1 down day: annoyed, but if I followed process I ignore. If I broke it, I’m pissed. 2 down days: I pay attention. 3 down days: “my career is over”—full battle stations. Risk down. Size down. Best trades only. Find leaks, fix them til I’m back.

I also analyze my trades daily and monthly so I can see what I did wrong/right, where I m underperforming. Then I get to work. I cut the garbage trades, sit on my hands and wait for lowest risk, most controlled, most consistent set ups. Repeat until back in the zone.

I’ll give you one more @TheOneLanceB How to succeed at trading: Trust your trainees who are beginner traders to be wrong at the start and trade the opposite. When they say they are in, you exit. When they say they are out, you enter. Simples.
How to fail at trading: Trust your intuition when you are a beginner trader. How to succeed at trading: Trust your intuition when you are an experienced trader.

Some days you think you had a great day, then find out your peers made 5x what you did Other days you think you had a terrible day, then find out everyone else got killed Performance is relative. Judge yourself on how well you executed your process in the market you were given
Stop grading your day by what the market gave you. Start grading it by what you executed. One of these was always in your hands. The other was never yours.

Sounds familiar. Maybe there’s a connection between chopping wood and chopping losers?
He grew up completely off the grid on a California mountain before becoming a legendary prop trader with only 5 losing months over a 14-year period. Known as "Mr. Consistency," he is a multi-decade futures market veteran featured in the Market Wizards series who has trained over 200 traders. Can you guess the trader? Full episode drops Jun 24 (EDT). Stay tuned!

Thanks Jack. I spent 25 years trying to become a great trader and accidentally became an expert at admitting I was wrong :-)
I got out of my losers. I didn't hope. I didn't get attached to anything. - Jason Berry @JasonHBerry 7/n lnk.to/marketwizardsnextgene…

Time to sell? Caught myself checking P&L too much this week. Never a great sign. When traders start watching net worth instead of process, things can get a little bubbly. Anybody else seeing signs?

Spoke with a trainee today fighting for his seat. Expected bad trading. Found edge and consistency. Problem is he trades almost everything the same size. Great setup appears… nothing changes. Consistency keeps you alive. Sizing properly is what changes your life.

Vol traders have had a great run since March. But markets change. Easy trades disappear. Small losers start showing up first. That’s usually the signal. I’ve slowed down and gone back to grind mode. Some are still swinging hard. Are you adjusting, or fighting the tape?

Speaking to traders today: Vol down. Big trades done. Small losing days creeping in. Short bull run — less chaos, less opportunity. In-between market. Don’t force it. Don’t dig holes. Keep the powder dry. Be ready to attack if things shift. Until then, grind it out.
