Kelvin Chiu @KC_SilverCape from latest MW book with open call for traders/strategies, "We're always looking for exceptional talent with genuine edge, strong judgment and an unrelenting drive to become better every day...Reach us at careers@silvercape.com"
Thanks to Bloomberg for covering SilverCape. The Market Wizards chapter was about my past and my own trading journey. This is about the present and future: building SilverCape into a broader platform that backs talented PMs and traders. We're always looking for exceptional talent with genuine edge, strong judgment and an unrelenting drive to become better every day. The bar is high. In return, the right people get autonomy, meaningful capital, and the ability to scale with success. Reach us at careers@silvercape.com - article talks about China futures and Asia Equities, but we're open to all strategies.

I used to think offense was what mattered in trading but I have long since learned, time and again, that is it defense.

BLS CPI inflation calculator says $1 in 1976 (50 yrs ago) is worth about $6 today. I went through and found various market prices and compared current prices to CPI implied prices and figured how much these markets were over/under valued % wise vs the CPI estimate.

Reminiscences of a Stock Operator quote of the day: The recognition of our own mistakes should not benefit us any more than the study of our successes. But there is a natural tendency in all men to avoid punishment. When you associate certain mistakes with a licking, you do not hanker for a second dose...

Financials plans are kind of absurd when you think about it. Multiple moving parts all of which change (usually dramatically) as life goes on. Here's my thoughts on a simplified catch-all financial plan: 1. Contribute as much as you can to your investments (subject to real life). 2. Use mainstream tax advantaged contributions as much as possible. Consider avoiding questionable tax avoidance schemes as history shows the IRS usually comes calling. 3. Try to achieve the highest returns possible subject to your temperament/stomach lining - design your portfolio accordingly. 4. Don't allow your distaste for uncertainty to cause you to buy into a hypothetical forecasted future with multiple moving parts that likely won't materialize for one reason or another. 5. Try to stay optimistic.
