Yes pay for the highlights, and pay for the months and months of a AAU tournaments, then pay for the prospect camps. Parents and recruits pay for a lot with little to no results.
My daughters and I have sent out emails, highlights, talked on the phone with multiple coaches, get promised this and that so long as we pay to attend prospect camps and then get completely ignored once we arrive. And this is at the D3 level so I am under no illusions of full scholarships and crap like that.
When I was recruited out of high school my parents and I were treated with respect. That has not been the experience for my daughters and I 30 years later.
Crazy how SERIOUS athletes & parents are about getting recruited.
Like…SERIOUS serious. 😅
But at some point, ACTION is required.
Turn off DND ➡️ Answer the calls. Pay for highlights (yes even when you got nothing last week). Then Send the film. Get to camps. Follow up. Build relationships. Get in the gym. Do the work.
You can’t want the opportunity more than you’re willing to MOVE for it.
Recruiting rewards ACTION, not just intention. 💯
