Toys "R" Us is opening 120 new standalone stores across the U.S. in time for the holiday season, growing from 40 locations to 160. The expansion comes nearly a decade after the retailer filed for bankruptcy.

Hey @jimcramer, big fan of your show! You said on Friday’s show you have doubts about $UBER but the CEO and COO collectively purchased $15M in stock on the open market in the past week. With the stock being 16.5x forward earnings does this change anything for you at all?

Every so often, the universe reminds me that my instincts as a manager mattered. Like walking through Kroger and hearing a song my former client wrote and recorded ten years ago, before the world knew his name.

Socialist economics Grocery stores operate with 1-2% profit margins already so taxpayers will have to subsidize 30% discounts on groceries. It also threatens to shut down local markets and bodegas (and reduce access to food), because they have to compete with the city stores, while also paying commercial rent and earning profits.
Mamdani announces that he is opening 5 city government run grocery stores: “Prices will be set at 30% below typical retail prices. No exceptions.”

Remember kids, many of music’s biggest artists were initially financed by illegal activity. If you’re playing the game honestly, you’re doing a lot better than you think. It’s tough out there, and you got this!

Lots of calls for a wealth tax lately. It sounds good: tax the super-rich more so we can have more money for government services. But a couple of quick things you won't hear in the sound bites. Europe tried a wealth tax and mostly abandoned it. One big reason is that countries found that the cost of enforcing it were often higher than the tax revenue it brought in. Little to no money actually made it to those who needed it. To tax 'wealth' you need an army of new, highly trained (and highly paid) IRS agents to comb through super complex situations. Taxing income is relatively easy. Just take a specific % of a specific number and deduct a few things. Taxing wealth is hard, messy and incredibly complex (again, don't believe me .. ask the European nations who tried and abandoned it). And then what do you do when wealth falls? Let's say a family is worth $20 billion. They are taxed. Their family stock (and remember that 'wealth' is going to almost always be in stock, never in income) falls by 50%. Does the IRS have to write a billion-dollar refund check back to the family for taxing them on wealth that no longer exists? The family will sue for the money back. Which means another army of IRS agents will spend years tied up in analysis and litigation. Everyday taxpayers can and will fight audits over relatively small sums of money. What do you think the rich and their team of accountants are going to do? But we are a democracy and its voters demand it or Congress votes for it, let's give it a try. Maybe we can do taxes better than Europe. We certainly are a lot richer these days as they've driven themselves into a ditch. One upside of a new wealth tax would certainly be on DC real estate. We'd have to hire a massive number of new, well-paid auditors who will need a place to live. Anyway, you don't have to believe me. I work for CNBC know a lot of rich people so this will largely be discounted anyway. Do some quick research or use Chat or Gemini or whatever and let it give you an unvarnished answer. But like all things you hear ... things are usually more complex than simple sound bites -- or X posts -- can relate. Always happy to have polite, kind and fair debates on any topic. Look forward to further discussion. Go USA soccer and Go Knicks!

The reason anyone gets insanely rich is almost always because of the stock market. It certainly how @elonmusk did. And the reason they get rich from the stock market, is because 150m Americans decided they wanted to own shares of stocks directly, or through their retirement plans, or through other approaches as a way of building their net worth and trying to create a better life for themselves. One Hundred Fifty Million Americans. About 60% of adults. Effectively believing that @elonmusk and many billionaires could make them wealthier and help them achieve a better life. If you want @elonmusk , and most billionaires to no longer be that rich, convince those 150m to sell their stocks, funds, ETFs whatever. Of course you would wipe out the net-worth of most of those people, and everyone else’s savings, as the markets crashed and brought down the economy and created the worst depression we have ever seen. Alternatively There are ways to improve healthcare access and eventually make it available to all. To start - If you want @elonmusk and all billionaires to improve healthcare for everyone , ask them to stop doing business with the enormous healthcare conglomerates and to work directly with transparently priced care providers. It’s the behemoth HC conglomerates that make HC so bad for so many. (Check my timeline for more detail) Removing them would push the cost of healthcare down for everyone. Their corporate decisions impact our healthcare cost and availability. Of course if they do that, not only would our HC costs go down , and the quality of care for their employees and the entire country go up But They would see their corporate cash flow increase dramatically and we would have more millionaires, billionaires and maybe even another trillionaire when that cash flow moved from the big health care conglomerates to their bottom line, so would the net worth of the 150 million American adults that own public stocks Capitalism is better than socialism because 150m Americans can influence exactly what happens in this country.
Capitalism is better than socialism because one man gets to be a trillionaire instead of everyone having healthcare

I want to say something about @60Minutes since so many conservatives are trashing it. When my Dad was first diagnosed with Glioblastoma and we were trying to decide who he and my mother should sit down with and talk about the end days of his life - we ultimately landed on Leslie Stahl and @60Minutes. Leslie came to our ranch in Sedona and sat down and profiled both my parents together for an exclusive sit down. We ultimately chose Leslie because of her prestige as a journalist and respected history of the show. Leslie and her crew were simultaneously professional and respectful of the delicate emotional state my entire family was in. She was in our secluded home as we all grappled with the concept that my dad was dying and fast from a rare cancer in front of the entire world. She and her producers did a wonderful job. Feel free to watch it, it’s beautifully done. This is not a situation just any person without experience can airdrop and handle the dynamics of. This is not something a rookie commentator or podcaster could have maneuvered with the respect needed. Experience does matter. Not all legacy media is garbage nor are all reporters. This “throw all the bastards out” mentality is obnoxious and just going to breed more insanity and distrust on both sides. I don’t want woke journalism. I don’t want anitwoke journalism. I just want great journalism. Be careful what you wish for conservatives, - there could come a day when Rachel Maddow is put in charge instead of Bari Weiss and then tell me how you feel. The pendulum swings both ways.

Scott Pelley fires back at "60 Minutes" after being fired and says Paramount-Skydance is weakening the news show "apparently to curry favor with the Trump administration." “Last month, '60 Minutes' lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos... Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over '60 Minutes' interviews is not how this is done. Incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc." variety.com/2026/tv/news/sco…

Artificial intelligences do not undergo experiences, do not possess a body, do not feel joy or pain, do not mature through relationships, and do not know from within what love, work, friendship or responsibility mean. Nor do they have a moral conscience, since they do not judge good and evil, grasp the ultimate meaning of situations, or bear responsibility for consequences. They may imitate or even simulate, but they do not understand what they produce, for they lack the affective, relational, and spiritual perspective through which human beings grow in wisdom. #MagnificaHumanitas
