Given the latest drama, this is for the married women:
Ladies, your man wants one thing from you, and it's wholesome: You need to be his port in the storm. Where he comes to seek shelter from the world. The one person who absolutely will not judge him, and will always support him, no matter what.
It is neither your job nor your place to insult him, tear him down, belittle him, emasculate him, or otherwise antagonize him.
Sure, he doesn't get everything done that you want all the time, every time, on time. Because he's carrying weight you cannot begin to imagine. He is your provider, your shield, your comfort, your friend, your lover, possibly a father. Men take that shit seriously. Like, seriously seriously. We spend our days and nights worrying about the future of our family and our marriage. Whether we've done all the right things. Whether we're good enough; whether we're living up to our own high standards, as well as what the world expects of us.
So what if the garbage didn't get taken out precisely when you wanted it? So what if that one dish isn't perfectly clean? Who cares if he left a sock on the floor?
Give him some grace, and cut him some slack. Be there for him. Tell him you love him. Tell him he's handsome. Tell him he's strong. Tell him you appreciate him. Don't just show him; TELL HIM.
Be the person he's not worried about sharing his fears and worries with. Because, as men, we really don't have anyone else. Men go through life thinking no one gives a shit.
Be the one person in his life who does.
