The lesson here is that when you hear any Persian Iranian making wild claims about their family members in Iran to justify war and sanctions on Iranians you need to research whether those specific claims are true or not. Michigan Persians sweater guy, Iman Dashti, claimed that his uncle was sentenced to death and given 50 lashes by the IRGC. He claimed that his cousin was hunted down in Iran by the IRGC for not having her hijab on properly.
As a 22 year old attending University of Michigan he knew there would be someone investigating his very public claims he used to push conservative right wing agendas. That person investigating is me.
I’ve found out the names and even some social media accounts of his family members. He lied about both claims and the fake death toll of 50,000.
His lies are being used to manipulate Americans in order to get the youth to enlist and die in endless wars. He’s a traitor to both Americans and Iranians. Most of all he’s a traitor to those of us who are Iranian American. We are DONE being lied to and used.
@dashti_iman
Apologize publicly or I’ll make sure this follows you forever. Let this be a lesson to you, a Persian Iranian American woman is the LAST person you want to piss off and lie about.
Photos of Amir H. Fathali’s Facebook account. That’s Iman Dashti’s maternal grandfather. Iman Dashti’s mother is in the comments. I’ve already posted confirming that his paternal grandparents are alive and well in the U.S. as well. Their names are Vali Dashti and Akram Dashti. Their son, Iman Dashti’s father, is Shervin R. Dashti.
