After almost a year of pushing the contractor who is redeveloping the former 42nd Street site into apartments, have finally indicated the construction works are planned to commence again by the end of August 2024.

The streets were packed today for Whitley Bay Carnival. Now in its 11th year, the Carnival has gone from strength to strength and really brings the whole community together. Councillors Sandra Graham and John Shea and I were out cheering on those in the parade. 🎉🌈🌞

🎉DePaul House in Whitley Bay turned 30 years old today
Over 700 young homeless people have come through the doors of DePaul House in the past 30 years. Formally known as Compass, they have provided a safe environment for young people to stay & pathways to rebuilding their lives
