It’s true: there’s a lot to do in Destiny and it can be a tad overwhelming after some time away. Daily objectives, weekly, long-term goals via MoT, and more.
Here’s some suggestions:
1. Hop into the Tower and check out each of the tenets: what rewards do you want to snag? Do they have specific objectives or just need legendary marks?
2. Go to your Triumphs page to see what triumphs you still have. Strike centric objectives? Exploration? SRL? PvP? Dungeons? This is your main source of legendary marks, and can give you some goals to complete as you get back into things.
3. Go at your own pace. If you need to do a bunch of SRL, don’t feel like you have to ONLY play that. Hop around after a few runs if you want some variety. It’s not going anywhere.
Alternate path: Check out your reward tracks on Zavala, Shaxx, and the Drifter. Anything you want to earn there? Just hop into the playlists and play.
Larger, background objective; have you finished your Triumphant Reward Pass? That just requires XP for progress; so play whatever you feel like.
…and don’t forget your seasonal hub reward track that you can find in the director next to playlist nodes. If you need some guard rails on what to do, there are Daily/weekly objectives you can complete.
As for raids/dungeons, hit up old friends/groups to see if they want to do a run. If not? LFG/Fireteam Finder is always a resource.
Hope this helps!
I want to get back into Destiny 2 now that I know the game isn't going anywhere, but the last time I played (around Monument of Triumph release) I was very overwhelmed and a bit clueless as to what I should focus on or grind for. Anyone got any pointers for an old-timer looking to get back into it please?
