Banks 𝗍̶𝖺̶𝗄̶𝖾̶ took years! Wake up to a new reality.
The world's largest bank
The world's largest asset manager
and the world's largest custodian are on-chain.
Even the European Central Bank now has crypto rails.
We are not entering a new era; we are in one.
Compliance, privacy, uptime, and SLAs are the conversations that you need to have.
@ismiMatthew from @ethereuminsti opened our eyes when he joined @karl_dot_tech (@Optimism), Angel Gomez (@utila_io) and Alexander Wilke, for a discussion.
The largest financial institutions are already on-chain.
Not on a random private network, but on Ethereum, a permissionless, fully decentralized system.
Celebrating our success.
@utila_io and Bermuda now unlock private on-chain finance. The institutional appetite was huge.
Thanks again for the collaboration @zuk1818, Angel Gomez, Gonçalo Correia, and a very agile team at Utila particularly Ariel Madjar, Marcin Miłosierny
We partnered with @utila_io to bring privacy to any institutional workflow on EVM, while keeping security, approvals, and policies fully intact.

Confidential ≠ Private
What does privacy mean? For me:
*protect people and their identities (privacy of counterparties)
*confidential asset types
*usable with DeFi
Privacy and liquidity shouldn't be a trade-off
Tell me how much I sent and I will agree it is not private

Also if you say ZAMA funds are not private, I would need an explalantion and like they say, we learn everyday right ??
We are opening beta access to Bermuda's private multisig.
Explore private transactions, payroll and other DeFi use cases across the EVM.

@karl_dot_tech, co-founder and CTO of @Optimism, joins our live panel on private transactions and custody on any EVM chain.
Tuesday, 8 Sept, 15:00 CEST / 09:00 ET / 21:00 SGT. Free, online, open Q&A.
With @utila_io, @ethereuminsti, and Bermuda.
Matthew Dawson (@ismiMatthew), Co-Founder of Ethereum Institutional (@ethereuminsti), will join our Webinar with @utila_io on Tuesday.
Matthew Dawson will share his perspective on the challenges that institutions face when adopting Web3 technology.
@bermudabayzk, the chance to present at the Swiss National Bank @SNB_BNS today. Will CBDCs be hosted on public blockchains?
The only missing piece is compliant privacy and custody. We enable that with @utila_io.
If you want to learn more, register for our seminar below.
1/ Every serious market participant keeps its order flow and positions confidential. A central bank has more reason to do so than anyone.
@utila_io x @bermudabayzk just demoed what that looks like on-chain — a confidential repo operation, live. Thread 🧵
GM from the Swiss National Bank. Facts:
The dollar has lost a third of its value against the franc over 20 years.
The Swiss National Bank was the first central bank in the world to run a monetary policy operation on a live production blockchain.
We have partnered with @utila_io
Together, we enable Confidential Custody for Central Banks.
We offer keys that never leave the institution's own hardware and a footprint that only the institution can read.
@syrupsid told me how he managed to grow @maplefinance after calling out “DeFi is Dead”.
What is dead?
According to Sid. It is the 2021 version of DeFi: wallet connections, token incentives, users manually combining protocols, and layers of smart-contract risk.

Bermuda demoed a fully private stablecoin account live on Base Sepolia.
> You log in with a normal wallet provider, such as @dfnsHQ
> Your balance opens in one view, a private balance, a private vault balance and a public wallet balance
> Then funds arrive from a faucet, and that transfer is already private
> From there you point the account at any vault, for example a Morpho vault
> You deposit into it privately
> Finally, the ZK proof and the policy compliance check run in that same step
"This is now a transaction that is live on Base Sepolia, and you see that you don't see anything. It's empty."
"This works on any chain and with any DeFi app, you're not constrained to any kind of number of assets."
@JphFritsche, Founder of @bermudabayzk, on the live show yesterday
Stablecoin balances can now be private and still pass the issuer's compliance checks, says @JphFritsche
"Zama recently had to freeze their entire USDC balance or got it frozen by a court order."
Zama is a privacy protocol, and the roughly $12.5 million in user funds that went offline for three days in May belonged to people who were not related to the case.
"The court has no other option than to say to the issuer, Hey, you have to freeze the entire protocol because in your protocol are illicit funds."
"I think, in fact, every other privacy protocol works that way. We don't."
"[Issuers] can just enforce their policy on any individual private balance."
"This sounds like magic, but it's really not."
Jan Philipp Fritsche researched at the ECB and worked at the Bundesbank as a macroeconomist before building @bermudabayzk
Stablecoin salaries reveal what everyone's getting paid.
Payroll that settles on a public chain is public to anyone on the block explorer. Instead, Bermuda allows companies to make onchain payments that are private at the same time.
"We'll be announcing this in the coming weeks. We are integrating with some of the largest wallets in the space."
"What you will be able to see is basically a private workspace balance. And then in that workspace, you have all the functionality that you have in your native wallet."
"@Deel wouldn't even need to integrate this. They could use whatever wallet they are using today. Maybe they're using @dfnsHQ already, and then all their operations would be private."
Says @JphFritsche, Founder of @bermudabayzk
Live August 18, at 12:00 PM ET / 9:00 AM PT. The lineup:
- @JphFritsche, Founder, @bermudabayzk - 12:30 PM ET
- @terrry, Founder, @techdollarhq - 1:00 PM ET
Neo, presented by @dakota_xyz
- @Christianeth, CEO, @0xinfini - 1:30 PM ET
- @marshallsebas, Co-Founder & CEO, @tryPortola - 2:00 PM ET
The agenda:
Bermuda - Jan Fritsche builds compliance that runs inside the transaction itself: issuer-defined rules on sanctions, eligibility and jurisdiction, enforced with client-side zero-knowledge proofs on public chains. The GL1 programmable compliance paper names Bermuda as a privacy solution for exactly that. His argument: privacy and enforcement are not a trade-off.
Techdollar - Every major asset class has a credit market around it. Homes have mortgages, public equities have margin lending, private company equity has been left behind. Terence McMenamin is building that missing layer, so employees at companies staying private past a decade can borrow against equity in Anthropic or SpaceX without selling it.
Infini - Christian Li is building the AI-powered financial platform for a borderless world: USD and EUR accounts, cards and payments, 100,000+ users across 180 countries, with the weight now going into business. We are getting into what an AI CFO actually does inside corporate treasury today.
Portola - Sebastian Marshall pitched us on one idea: credit is the last missing primitive. Stablecoins solved savings and payments globally, but payments abstract across borders and credit does not, and the reason is law rather than technology.
