Before he left, two Jewish leaders from the Warsaw ghetto met him. Their message was simple: “Our entire people will be destroyed.” Karski decided he needed to see it himself. At enormous personal risk, he was smuggled into the Warsaw ghetto and later into the Izbica transit camp near Lublin, disguised among the guards. He watched starving children, naked corpses left in the streets, and Jews packed into freight cars for the killing centers. The images never left him. He became not only the courier of the Polish underground but the witness who insisted the free world hear what was happening to the Jews. He reached London in November 1942 and briefed the Polish government-in-exile and British officials, including Foreign Secretary Anthony Eden. Okay, let's really put this genocide talking point to bed. @abierkhatib is correct: "It’s about the intent to destroy a group, in whole or in part." Any reasonable analysis shows that Israel's intent is to destroy Hamas, not Gazans. No one can deny Hamas built hundreds of miles of tunnels beneath residential areas. No one can deny Hamas placed thousands of booby traps in homes. No one can deny Hamas was using the Gaza population as literal human shields by using mosques, schools, even children's bedrooms as entrances to tunnels or weapons caches. No one can deny Israel allowed thousands of tons of food, medicine into Gaza. No one can deny the millions of vaccines allowed in. No one can deny that dead Gaza civilians do not help the IDF one bit. On the contrary, they make their job of destroying Hamas much more difficult. No one can deny that every dead civilian is a public relations victory for Hamas and a PR disaster for Israel. And as Hamas and PIJ continue to release names of "martyrs" the airstrikes that were confidently claimed to have killed only civilians in 2023 and are now known to have targeted terrorists. Which also proves that Israel was bombing based on intelligence, not random destruction. It makes no sense to use expensive smart weapons to target Hamas if the intention is to kill everyone. There is zero evidence of intent to kill innocent Gazans outside of angry statements made by people right after October 7 that were taken out of context ("Amalek") or from people who are not in any decisionmaking positions for the IDF . Without intent there is no genocide. There is not only no intent to kill Gazans, there is intent to avoid it as much as possible while going after Hamas.
