Being debunked by Lukashenko is yet another new low for Trump.
Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko says Belarus cannot supply potash to the United States under Donald Trump's proposed "deal" with Belarus.
Lukashenko said today, "Even if we wanted to supply somewhere else, Western markets, we just don't have those volumes, everything has been contracted."
Donald Trump announced on Truth Social earlier that he was working on a "massive Deal with respect to the purchase of Potash from Belarus. The pricing would be for substantially less than we are currently paying to Canada."
It appears that Lukashenko just counter-signalled Trump's announcement.

There's actually a case to be made for standing pat, given that inflation's "uptick" is only really in things such as food and energy, which people don't buy or use.
If economic data called for a rate hike, and the Fed chose not to hike rates because an election was coming up, that would be the Fed shaping policy in response to an election, not staying out of the way of it.

@FT actually published prior to the previously stated deadline (and then said that we declined to comment).
Since the Financial Times refuses to engage in honest journalism, here is our comment for your incorrect and ridiculous story:
“This entire story is totally fake news attributed to low-level, anonymous ‘sources’ who have no idea what they are talking about. None of these supposed conversations are happening. Special Envoy Witkoff and Jared Kushner continue to work incredibly hard towards a peace agreement, and the President trusts them fully to lead negotiations on behalf of the United States. It’s a shame that Financial Times has devolved into a left-wing gossip rag that has zero interest in reporting accurate information.”
