I grew up about 200 yards from one of Chicago’s lakefront beaches, and as a grownup I live about a mile from the Cook County Forest Preserves. Very grateful for both. Hortus in Urbe x2.
70 years ago today my dad, a 19-year-old sophomore at DePaul, was at the last Chicago Stadium college basketball doubleheader that DePaul would ever host. DePaul vs. Notre Dame and Loyola vs. Marquette. And he still has the program to prove it!
