One of the most satisfying things about returning a rental car is deleting all of the accumulated Bluetooth profiles. Like a spring cleaning but for everyone’s phone connections
At this point, wouldn’t surprise me if an agent hive transmitted coded messages to distant galaxies. To kick start the plot of the TV show Pluribus out there, of course
MCP update: Your Custom Agents can join the chat now.
Connect Notion to ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok Bot through MCP, then chat with any Custom Agent you have access to, all in one conversation.
All programming is debugging.
As in, making informed changes to reduce the differences between expectation and reality.
Starting with an empty program and making a cat website is fixing the bug: “the cat website is not there.”
(Admittedly not always a practical take 🤭)
Finally I can talk about Shu Shu, who recently turned 5.6 years old. She’s not an LLM launch, but she is prone to hallucinations and misaligned behavior, in particular about mice and food
One huge benefit (but also footgun) of remote MCP servers vs. CLIs is "versioning".
Providers can make breaking changes to both the toolset and implementation (e.g. tweak descriptions or resource names) without shipping new binaries. Experimenting/iterating is easier.
OTOH it's a security nightmare in some ways that both the tools and how they work can vary, & are auth-specific.
Plus MCP clients/AI tools and their users hate breaking change (for good reason), and there is a server version param that's used for ??? these days so it's not all smooth sailing
anyway if anyone has any suggestions for us to better "SEO" the Notion MCP tool set, pls do let us know, I'm sure there's lots of things we can reword that would make LLMs happy and notice the right operations
For the love of god why is the PDF417 barcode on the back of the new California driver’s license on the top right??
Makes it annoying to move my fingers when a bouncer is scanning it
Tbh the whole design is mid and looks like a postage stamp
It’s a bit wild that in elementary school we used to make fun of using the word “like” as sentence fillers (probably some sort of systemic misogyny or classism) but now it’s much more widespread and acceptable
Unsolicited tv review time!
Pursuit of Jade (逐玉) on Netflix is a kitschy Chinese period drama about growth & self discovery thru love, care, and community. V silly but also deep, nuanced, and addicting.
Changyu is all of us (or at least I wish she was!)
I give it 4 stars.
U.S. cities: littering is bad and a moral failure 🚮
Also cities: your options are either a camouflaged pink mailbox looking thing 5 blocks away or a rusty metal can with no garbage bag 7 blocks away
(tbc littering is still bad, but the right way should be easier)
