When we started @Bastion, we believed stablecoins would become core financial infrastructure. But for the world’s largest enterprises and financial institutions to adopt them, that infrastructure would need to meet the regulatory standards they already expect from their banks. That meant building compliance, controls and governance into Bastion from the beginning, not adding them after the fact or waiting for others to pave the way. Today, the OCC granted Bastion preliminary conditional approval for a national trust bank charter, placing us among a small group of companies to reach this stage with the OCC. That matters because the bar should be high. Stablecoins are becoming part of the financial system, and the infrastructure powering them needs to be built for the regulatory and operational standards that come with that. Stablecoins are moving into the financial mainstream, but institutional adoption depends on infrastructure that can meet an institutional standard. We made the decision early to build Bastion for that standard. Today is an important validation of that decision, and we’re just getting started. bastion.com/article/bastion-…

This has been my favorite new use case since we started working together - excited it’s finally public! Borderless brings the local rails providers and the back office tooling, Iris brings the future that much closer to the present.
Today we're launching Iris, the financial network telecom operators plug into to earn on what they already own. Operators built the roads the digital economy runs on. Everyone else got rich building the city on top. From 2012 through 2025, traffic on operator networks grew more than 50% a year. Operator revenue grew about 1%. The companies on top took the difference. Operators own what those companies pay dearly for: distribution, the billing relationship, daily engagement. And money already runs through all of it, in subscriber payments, top-ups, advertising and settlement. Iris sits underneath all of it. Same business, new revenue, settled in dollars. Iris runs the rails. The operator keeps the economics. VIVA, a licensed carrier in Bolivia, is the first operator live on Iris. Real transactions, settled in USDi, operating reserves held in dollars. Until now, operators built everything and kept almost none of the value. Now they build almost nothing and keep almost all of it.

Introducing the Borderless Operations Layer. Adding providers should add coverage, not complexity and headcount. Today it means an RFI inbox per provider, a ledger per provider, and no single view of which rails are healthy. So we built the back office into the platform: → RFI Case Management: every RFI from every provider in one queue, tracked with a status and an age → Reconciliation: verified against each provider's own ledger as the money moves → Rail monitoring: continuous across the network, often ahead of the provider's own incident post Plus unified reporting, no-code routing, price discovery, refunds, balances, audit logs, permissions. Runs on the providers you've already integrated. Read the full breakdown: borderless.xyz/insights/the-…

CrissCross is live on the Borderless network 🌍 We're going deeper across our African corridors, and every customer gets it through the integration they already have: 👉 Local currency collections across 30+ African markets 👉 Payouts into local bank accounts and mobile money wallets, via direct bank integrations and 15+ mobile money operators 👉 Eleven Francophone West and Central African countries, where most provider coverage stops at the border 👉 Egypt and the UAE under a merchant-of-record structure, no local entity required Stablecoins made settlement easier. The last mile is still local, and CrissCross has been building that across Africa for years. Read more: borderless.xyz/insights/cris…

$MA's real business isn't credit cards, it's "franchise rules." @KevLeht, CEO of @borderlessxyz, tells @RemyBlaireNews their pilot with Mastercard brings that same governance model into stablecoins, letting enterprises clear compliance "one time instead of ten times" across underlying payment providers, calling it "the big unlock" for scaling the space.

"I think it was phenomenally valuable for us in terms of being able to create a relationship" "And navigate a relationship with what is a behemoth of the size of Mastercard." @KevLeht, CEO & Founder of @borderlessxyz, went through Mastercard's StartPath accelerator alongside Infinia, Coiway, and Wallapay, all three of which are now launch pilot on and off ramp providers for the program. "It's interesting to look back at previous batches and realize what we now think of as the cross border payments giants like the Airwallex's were at one point an early stage company that were part of Mastercard StartPath."

Thank you to everyone who joined us last week in NYC for our Scaling Stablecoin Cross-Border Payments, co-hosted with @Mastercard! The afternoon covered what it takes to move stablecoins across borders at scale. A theme ran through all of it: trust and compliance matter as much as speed. That is why we're partnering with Mastercard to bring shared verification and governance to cross-border stablecoin payments through Crypto Credential, starting with network partners @koywe_latam, @walapay_io and Infinia. Institutions can't build on rails they can't trust, and this is where that starts to change. Huge shout-out to our sponsors @SocureID, @raincards, and @inconetwork for making the event possible, and to everyone who came out. Excited to keep the momentum going. See you at the next one!

"There's certainly not even a hundred on and off ramp providers that I would trust enterprise or institutional level flows to." "You have a bunch of capabilities that are misrepresented." "You have a bunch of API docs that are wrong." "You then have a sandbox environment that doesn't translate to a production environment." "We don't win by having the most providers be part of the Borderless platform." "We win by having the right providers. That's part of why we're looking at 16 turning into 25, not a hundred turning into 300." @KevLeht, CEO & Co-Founder of @borderlessxyz on two and a half years of battle-testing stablecoin on and off ramp integrations.

"Stablecoins today are a drop in the bucket" of global payments volume, says @KevLeht The stablecoin payments market is full of announcements and new players. But the actual volumes running through it are still only a fraction of what moves through traditional rails. "We don't think about the time horizon over the next two or three years. We think about the time horizon over the next ten or twenty years." "Maybe history will prove me to be completely wrong. And in three years, I'll be like, well, guys, we screwed it all up. But we think about this in terms of almost exclusively long term time horizon bets." Everything @borderlessxyz builds, from its products to its partnerships, is oriented around what needs to exist over the next several decades to make stablecoins the default and to turn traditional payments into the fraction that stablecoins are today.

"You've got a stablecoin, which is very much a global asset, can be moved anywhere in the world." "Then you've got regulatory licenses, fiat currencies, local banking rails, very geographically fragmented." "We looked at that and we said, there's an opportunity to build something at the intersection of these two things that makes onchain money globally interoperable with offchain money." "What we spent a ton of our time doing is integrating with the leading on and off ramp providers in all of these different jurisdictions." "And now we maintain all those integrations." "They can do that entire integration in two weeks end to end instead of six or nine months." @KevLeht of @borderlessxyz on the live show yesterday

And we wanna be agnostic to all these things" "We've actually stopped thinking of ourselves as an orchestration business." "We think of our customers as orchestrators, and we think of ourselves as ultimately a connectivity business"

A stablecoin payment can settle in seconds and still get stuck. The bottleneck isn't speed. It's trust. That was the yin and yang David Goldschmidt and I kept circling onstage at @Mastercard's NYC office this week. @borderlessxyz spent years making payments move reliably across a network of licensed providers in 100+ countries. That half is hard, and it's solved. The half that doesn't scale is trust: the receiving provider re-runs KYC on a customer the sending provider already cleared. Trust never travels with the money. That's Mastercard's decades-long job. Common standards, strict governance. Through the Crypto Credential pilot they bring it to stablecoins, starting with Infinia, Walapay and Koywe on our network. Two companies, each doing the half it does best. If your stablecoin payments still stall after settlement, speed was never your problem.

The compliance layer of stablecoin payments breaks down the moment you try to scale it. > The sender gets KYC'd by the on-ramp provider, but the off-ramp provider on the other end has no visibility into who that sender is or what standards were used to clear them > So each provider pair needs its own reliance agreement, which requires a separate compliance audit for every counterparty on the network > For example: At 16 providers that means 16 separate audits, and at 80 the entire model stops working To solve this, @borderlessxyz has brought in @Mastercard franchise rules, which work the way they've always worked for cards, by giving every provider one shared compliance bar to clear instead of verifying one counterparty at a time. What this means: > One Mastercard audit of your compliance program replaces every individual counterparty review > Any provider who passes earns automatic reliance from every other provider who has also opted in > A network that needed 18 separate audits now needs one @KevLeht, Founder of @borderlessxyz on the live show today.

In cross-border payments, every provider verifies the same customer from scratch. @Mastercard and @borderlessxyz are partnering to change that. With Crypto Credential, a provider passes the check once, and everyone else on the network can rely on it. Each provider in our network is a separate company with its own regulator, its own compliance process, its own systems. We shipped Crypto Credential into that without anyone rebuilding their integration. No new services on our side. No integration work on theirs. If you're already on Borderless, it's the same API as yesterday. Getting a new standard adopted is harder than defining it. Someone has to absorb the integration cost, or it doesn't spread. That's what the orchestration layer is for. We absorb it once so everyone on the network gets it.
