Happy birthday Tetsuya Nomura! Nomura-san is basically the father of Kingdom Hearts series and is well known for designing iconic Final Fantasy characters like Cloud. Just realised Square Enix released the Kingdom Hearts collection on his bday. This is actually so beautiful 🥹

Fun KH lore of the day! Xion does not have or wield a "real" Keyblade. Her Keyblade is classified as a Replica Kingdom Key even during the events of Kingdom Hearts III, as it was born from her siphoning and replicating Sora's powers through Roxas.

Fun KH lore of the day! Sora first obtained the Kingdom Key on Destiny Islands by accidentally touching the light within Riku's heart. He was able to wield Riku's Keyblade because he also met the necessary requirement to become a Keyblade wielder. Having a strong heart.

Fun KH lore for the day! You do not specifically need the Kingdom Key and Kingdom Key D to seal the DTD. Any Keyblade of light or darkness would work. They were just the only ones available at the time. Also, people with hearts of light are not able to pass through the DTD.

Its explained multiple times what the power of waking is meant to do. Even if u didn't pay attention, it's explained explained in the journal. 1. The power to wake sleeping hearts 2. Allows a person's to travel to a world strongly connected to a person's heart.
Replying to @aquashoe13
Lmao “kh isn’t confusing” ask the average kh fan to explain why sora and riku are young in ddd or what the power of waking does in kh3

Fun KH lore for the day! Mickey's Kingdom Key D and its upgraded form, the Star Cluster, are the only known Keyblades of darkness. They have the ability to open a pathway to the Realm of Darkness, and it is implied that the Star Cluster was created by fusing his two Keyblades.

Fun KH lore of the day! The reason Xemnas took Xion after Axel brought her back was so he could give her a more powerful "body." She then used the three machines created to absorb the memories of the worlds Sora had visited to amplify her powers and the new "body" he gave her.

Yes and no, pure-blooded Heartless do release hearts when defeated with a Keyblade. The heart just isn't visible because it literally transformed into a Heartless. Emblem are made by a machine and have hearts trapped inside them. Think of them as cages that hold hearts captive.
This feels like new lore. And doesn't make a lot of sense either, other than just a game mechanics for this one.

Fun KH lore of the day! During the final act of 358/2 Days, a small part of Xion resided within Roxas and forced him to throw the Oblivion Keyblade to Riku. She did this to help Riku prevent Roxas from challenging Xemnas.

Fun KH lore of the day! The reason Squall changed his name to Leon is because he wanted to part ways with his old weak self. He felt guilty for being unable to stop the Heartless from invading his homeworld.

Fun KH lore of the day! When someone turns into a Heartless, they lose their minds and feelings. However, Sora and Xehanort managed to retain their sense of self when becoming one. It's implied its due to their strong hearts and because they willingly turned themselves into one.

Fun KH lore of the day! It is easy to miss, but if you look closely, Roxas encounters a reflection of himself from when he was a part of Organization XIII right before Twilight Thorn appears, similar to how Sora encountered a dark reflection of himself in the form of a Darkside.

- Kingdom Hearts is the source of all hearts. Ansem believed that the hearts true nature was darkness, but hearts contain both light and darkness within them. - Sora didn't go back because he has to to bring Riku home. He stayed on the opposite side of the door to help lock it.

Kairi is literally the reason why Ansem lost during the events of KH1, and she is also the reason why the Guardians managed to get a second chance to defeat Master Xehanort after they all lost to him at the Keyblade Graveyard.

Fun KH lore of the day! Keyblades do not care if their wielder is good or evil. They only care if their wielder has a strong heart, which is the key factor that determines if you are worthy of becoming a Keyblade wielder.
