Happy birthday Tetsuya Nomura!
Nomura-san is basically the father of Kingdom Hearts series and is well known for designing iconic Final Fantasy characters like Cloud.
Just realised Square Enix released the Kingdom Hearts collection on his bday. This is actually so beautiful 馃ス
Keyblades are capable of existing in two places at once. When Sora uses the Kingdom Key at Castle Oblivion, Roxas is using the same Kingdom Key at the same time during 358/2 Days because they are both strongly linked to one another.
No specific reason. The in-game lore is that he changed his name from Squall to Leon to avoid being reminded of his weak self. Now he continues to go by Leon because that is what he told everyone to call him, and it just became the norm.
The only difference is how they are made and their origins. One exists in a digital setting made of data and code, while the other isn't. The overall theme is whether a heart can be born in a digital setting, which Data Sora proves through the bonds he formed and his growth.
I'm not saying it's not genuine; I'm saying it's still made of data when Data Sora calls back his Keyblade, as he didn't magically gain the ability to summon a Keyblade like the real ones that Sora and the main cast use outside the computer world, which confuses fans.
There is a difference between a Keyblade comprised of only data that exists within a digital world and the real ones that exist outside a computer, which Sora and the rest of the cast wield.
What really happened is that Data Sora formed a strong bond and connection that allowed him to grow and evolve into something more than a simple digital entity existing in the Datascape, which allowed him to call back his destroyed Data Keyblade that he initially could not.
The misconception is that Data Sora had a data Keyblade at first and then magically gained the ability to summon a real Keyblade like Sora does. However, this is not the case, as his old and new Keyblade are both still comprised of data, which is the point that I am correcting.
Of course! She has a strong enough heart to wield a real one. We see this when Roxas lets her borrow his Keyblade in hopes that she'd get her powers back while he used a stick.
Data Sora's Keyblade is still a genuine Keyblade. Its just one that is born and exists in the Datascape just like he does. A coded tool that he utilizes in the system. Its just not a "real" Keyblade in the sense like Sora's actual Keyblade that exists outside of the computer.
Yes, that is because she was literally stealing Sora's powers from Roxas. It was like a big game of tug-of-war. The point is that Xion's power is to copy and replicate the Keyblade. The problem they faced is that she started stealing his powers and gained an identity of her own.
Thats because she was stealing Sora's powers from Roxas at that point. She initially was replicating his abilities. The more she spent in close proximity to Roxas she ended up stealing the powers from him. That's why Roxas grew weaker and she got stronger.
She can use a real Keyblade, as we saw with her borrowing Roxas' Keyblade. The overall point is that Xion is siphoning Sora's powers through Roxas. By doing so she is replicating his abilities.
This is the only way I can simplify it. She was initially replicating Sora's powers through Roxas. The more she spent in close proximity of him she started to slowly steal all his powers.
Yes, it has the same functions and traits as a real Keyblade, but at its core, it is just a copy: an imitation that was born from her unique ability to replicate Sora's powers through Roxas. Keyblades are born from hearts and reflect said heart; hers does not.
