The day was inevitable, but still arrives like a punch to the gut. Jon Kyl was the leader we all claim to want: Honest, fair, kind, smart, principled. A bridge-building, committed conservative. A personal mentor, the leader I aspired to. RIP, Senator.

Re: President Trump’s proposed dividend:
1. I would have described the he Trump Dividend as “Biden Inflation Reparations”
2. I’d suggest how to pay for it (allow one time conversion if IRA/401(k) to Roth accounts at a flat tax of 15%)
3. I wouldn’t spend the money on wealthy people. I’d spend it all on defense and low income Americans who are working.
4. People objecting to the cost of the proposal have forgotten the ticket price of the Biden “Build Back Better” massive spend in 2021 which I believe was more than $5K per adult.

How can people who in their own lives and workplace see that disorganization and incompetence is the rule, rather than the exception, think the political workplace is any different?
these conspiracy theories require you to believe that everything you know about life, from your own world, is somehow different with human beings who happen to be in elected office.

I hate this news. Mark was brilliant, funny, intense. He loved Susan and was devoted to his girls. In 2014 debate prep I insisted he make no Grateful Dead references during the debate. He made no promises. Working with him was like trying to restrain a tornado. It was amazing.
