✔️ USB-C ports are a huge win to factor into Cybercab design The Cybercab does not have the regular phone charger unit placeholder mats like the other Tesla models, instead it has two USB-C ports for cables - as seen below. Now, considering that Tesla runs model Ys in their Robotaxi fleet, the occasion that people leave a phone on a charger unit most likely happens. This very real mistake would create an issue where retrieval and reaching out to the Robotaxi network “help”would eat into the vehicles usual service hours. Thus, removing the charging unit mat altogether and providing USB-C ports instead, most likely would cut time & monetary costs for Tesla and the customer. Hardly anyone will go out of their way to retrieve a charging cord they left behind in a rideshare vehicle, most people are taking off to a destination and not factoring in the time to fix a mistake that would eat up their whole day — like leaving a phone behind. Using the USB-C ports, most people will unplug the cord and take their phone, the design is efficient.
