Stellantis has patented a system that ejects an EV's battery in case of fire or emergency.
The patent uses explosive bolts that allow the battery to be dropped out of the rear of the car, potentially saving the body and occupant from injury or damage.

Tesla Semi Battery Pack
4680 form factor cells arranged into a collection of bricks, modules, and sub-packs
14 modules per sub-pack and 8 bandolier per module
2 sub-packs for the Semi standard range and 3 sub-packs for the long range
Power electronics/PCS etc built into each sub pack all joined together in that HV Junction box just southwest of the MCS inlet
I’ve heard 1.2MW charging and holds it flat to 80%? Heard just over 40min 5-80%. Not sure… need to charge one.

November is going to be battery health test month at Out of Spec.
We are starting with only Tesla because they at least have a built-in, repeatable, battery health test
So hold off on running battery health tests on your car! In November we will be having you all run these tests. You will submit model info and general usage (AC vs DC / daily charge limit / temperature region etc) along with the health test result.
Then we can start to see how different usages / cells make a difference in capacity retention in actual cars from around the world ⚡️
