For most of my life growing up I was told the Bills would eventually leave Buffalo. Was told the market was too small. There weren’t enough big corporations or big enough money to keep a team. 📢 Legislative Affairs Update from GRIC The Commissioner of Lobbying has updated the gift and hospitality thresholds under the Lobbying Act to reflect inflation. Effective July 7, 2026: 🔹 Maximum value of an individual gift or hospitality: $43 🔹 Maximum annual combined value per public office holder: $215 While these thresholds have been adjusted in line with the Consumer Price Index, GRIC will continue to advocate for a more consistent legislative approach by aligning the Lobbying Act's gifts and hospitality framework with the approach under the Conflict of Interest Act, as recommended in our recent submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics (ETHI). We remain committed to supporting a transparent, practical, and modern lobbying framework for government relations professionals across Canada.
