Reporting from Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom Rally, two things have become clear (🧵 1/2):
1) There’s a broad coalition in attendance that disagree with each other on key issues.
There’s organised football hooligans, there’s conspiracy theorists, but there’s also people who feel genuinely disenfranchised, who didn’t want to talk to me about immigration, but about their pension and the decline of their towns.
There were also differing attitudes towards Tommy Robinson himself, support for Israel, and which, if any, politicians represented their views.
