I find it difficult to self-categorise. The Substack is a scattered map. Each post appears to examine something different. But together they reveal a coherent project: To increase man’s authorship over the conditions of his existence.

Signed up for Lawrence’s stuff thinking I was just going to get huge arms. Boy was I unprepared for what he routinely puts out. Meat head 🤝 philosopher Great stuff as always.

The masculine system thrives on oscillation Stress exposure strengthens prefrontal-amygdala connectivity. Metabolic/cognitive strain increases BDNF, triggers mitochondrial biogenesis, and enhances executive network plasticity. All of which consolidate during parasympathetic rebound - the phase where synaptic reconstruction occurs. There's a reason I emphasise the power in operating between alternate periods of extremes - Steady-state existence produces neither adaptation nor resilience. 1. Conquer 2. Reconsolidate Follow the natural laws and life get 1000x easier. I promise you

Curating the perfect routine ,optimal lifestyle, diet & sleep pattern = debasement of human experience A steady-state existence produces neither adaptation nor resilience Enduring controlled stress: - triggers mitochondrial biogenesis - increases BDNF - strengthens prefrontal-amygdala connectivity - induces neuroplasticity The nervous system adapts through polarity.

If you are the type to travel abroad but avoid the local cuisine because you’re scared of getting ill, you’re probably right in doing so. Your mental fragility goes hand in hand with a physical incapacity for resilience. (you’re excused if you travel to India) Conversely, those who do not consider the possibility of getting ill, are far less likely to do so. The picky eater fuels their existence based on a diet of fear. Using fear based reasoning to determine your nutritional intake is fragile + regressive to reject the unknown is to insulate from experience. If you’re unwilling to encounter the world in its full expression, you are inept as a man. You’re going to be defeated by a mushroom? A tomato? You go out for a business dinner, a date, an important meeting + you are willing to concede defeat to a tomato, a mushroom or a plate of asparagus? If above the age of 5, you should probably have a quiet word with yourself. (And if you have a son, enabling this kind of behaviour is criminal) Finishing your plate when presented with food (no matter how disgusting) = enacting the masculine principle of closure. what is begun must be completed. To waste is to deny the cost of creation. I remember being forced to eat whatever was left on my plate. It wasn’t an option to ‘leave food’. Wasting food was a crime. My ‘preferences’ didn’t come into it. To be afforded the luxory of preference when it comes to food given to you but obtained/provided/ acquired by somebody else, is cowardly and vulgar
Always be looking for ways to improve your nutrition, expand your palate, and unlearn being a picky eater as an adult

What’s interesting is the comorbidity between the 2 conditions ADHD and autism can produce opposite behaviours while sharing a significant amount of neurodevelopmental architecture And when both exist in the same man, the outcome is often 1+1=3 kind of problem Aka neurological civil war The ADHD side wants novelty, the autistic side wants predictability. one side becomes restless when nothing changes, the other becomes dysregulated when too much changes. ADHD requires routine + structure Autism requires severance from routine + structure Without these, each respective phenotype starts to become rigid in trajectory ADHD = the struggle to generate enough salience to remain engaged. Autism = assigning so much salience to particular sensations, interests or disruptions that disengagement becomes too difficult When you pair them both together, the same individual can simultaneously crave + fear chaos at the same time You exist within a paradoxical limbo state between structure:entropy The result is a standstill tug-of-war where nothing of any value can be abstracted. If you crave freedom but become dysfunctional without structure, this might be you If you find yourself constructing rigid routines, performing exceptionally for several weeks, then suddenly experiencing the routine itself as imprisonment and consequently , destroying it - this also might be you. You want people until people become intolerable. You crave stimulation up until the point stimulation becomes overwhelming (because you likely overshot, trying to keep up with the demands of your adhd side - the dopaminergic-crack fiend) You start ten projects and wait until one consumes your entire nervous system - At which point, the threshold has been met and you’re finally ready to go all-in. I suspect it explains a majority of the stalled potential seen in high-IQ neurodivergent men Novelty-seeking creates entrepreneurs and addicts through variations of the same machinery. Autistic persistence can either produce extraordinary mastery or sterile, robotic repetition of low ROI behaviours Low concern for social consensus can either produce original thinkers or socially isolated reclusive incels incapable of incorporating corrective feedback Everything depends on direction + leverage The highest-functioning Au/ADHD types will likely never live a perfectly balanced life (nor should they aim to achieve one) You would function better through controlled oscillation: periods of extreme focus followed by expansion structure followed by novelty solitude followed by social exposure, Etc If this resonates with you, then stop expecting one permanent operating mode to solve a complex system built around competing demands. adapt and you shall conquer
Use of stimulant-based ADHD medication (vyvanse) 100% contributed to the sabotage of a few relationships of mine For me it incites a kind of turbo-autism where by any kind of physical presence would aggravate me Noises, physical touch, the smile of a female , it was all an annoyance. After the novelty wears off, 70mg had me fantasying over being imprisoned inside a windowless gulag with nothing but a notebook and a pen

Reminder: 1. Men do not use jacuzzis 2. You are not Tony Montana If, in order to sit with yourself, you require the presence of warm bubbles, you have some serious demons that need taking care of Jacuzzis are for reserved for pregnant women only.
Jacuzzi is the ultimate recovery tool - Heats the whole body, penetrates deep - Relaxing vibrations of bubbles - Can add minerals to the water - Sweating without drying the skin Ideally you go in natural hot springs but jacuzzi/bath more reality keep your ice bath...

‘X’ really made you believe that improving the efficiency of your mitochondria is the panacea of health. Unfortunately It isn’t going to fix your deficiency in purpose. Just like increasing your DHT isn’t going to turn you into a man. You’re gonna have to go deeper.

We all know we are individual and protocols needs to be individualized but most of you see someone’s protocol & think you need to copy it or change your own. Maybe it is time to dust off your own protocol. Examine it. Make a change or make a try. But make it your own. Also follow Lawrence for the best Warrior Sage sh*t. If you’re into that kind of a thing. And I am.
Kill your heroes. None of them have the answer you’re looking for. And every time you go searching for someone else to give it to you, you cast a subconscious vote against yourself. Nobody is coming to hand you your path. You find it the only way anyone ever has: by experimenting, iterating, fucking around, finding out, failing, adjusting, repeating. You are an individual. What works for 1 man may poison another. At some point you have to stop searching for permission, certainty, or saviours and start building a relationship with your own instincts. The answer isn’t out there. It’s within you. It has always been. It’s just buried under your unwillingness to trust yourself.

Those running indefinite ‘TRT+’ protocols with chronically elevated testosterone may experience positively driven aggression + goal pursuit due to increasing DA and AR signalling But you’ll reach burn out if you don’t meet the turn-over rate I’m NOT advising this approach but if you’re going to do it, the best additions are those which: - buffer against volatility (GABA + Neurosteroids) eg pregnenolone, low dose progesterone, ganaxolone, mag threanate/taurinate - protect dopaminergic tone (eg. bromantane, selegiline) - support neuronal mitochondria (eg. NAD+, methylene blue, ubiquinol,PQQ) - bias cognitive flexibility (eg, NSI-189, Low-dose lithium orotate, Urolithin A)

when you realise that all human behaviour is just downstream manifestation of adaptive coping mechanisms, people become much easier to understand people project onto others what they cannot acknowledge, tolerate or integrate within themselves All your strongest held ‘beliefs’ can be traced back to fear there are no exceptions

I can (non-ironically) tell you that two of gods greatest gifts to man were autism and androgens an unrivalled propensity for pattern-recognition combined with an amplification of temperament - that, when guided correctly, gifts the personality with a torque that - 1. Allows the mind to see structures that others miss, and 2. Affords a will capable of acting on them. channelled with intent, its becomes something close to superhuman unfortunately I can’t teach autism but I can teach you how to effectively combine the 2

Tesofensine might be the strongest appetite supressant I’ve ever encountered (I’ve tried them all) Genuinely had me wondering if I’d ever be able to eat again For those who can out-eat all the GLP’s, sleep through adderall, and question wether the online modafinil hype is an Indian affiliate scam, this one’s for you
Tesofensine: “You’re not hungry, you’re bored” Tesofensine is a triple monoamine reuptake inhibitor. Which means it shuts down the black hole in your brain that sucks down three key neurotransmitters: Serotonin cranks up the "stop eating" signal directly to the hypothalamus Dopamine shuts off the compulsive, pleasure seeking reward drive for junk food. Taking away the mind control of junk food, it also jacks up willpower & focus Norepinephrine jacks up the sympathetic nervous system which cranks up resting metabolism. Which means more fat is burned when you aren’t moving Tesofensine is for the brain The stress eaters Compulsive hunger The binge snackers The bored not hungry eater

Outstanding article, @LawrenceElliots. Having dealt with this my whole life (without knowing what it was) I see so much of this playing out in my life up until now. Low dose extended release Adderall has been a game changer for me - it raises my baseline dopamine level enough to get me going and keep me from chasing hits. But it doesn't overload me and force me into chasing stupid shit that just happened to catch my attention at the wrong time. I've tried to focus on tweaking things into a more "normal" range when it comes to neurochemistry, rather than trying to optimize. Minimizing the downsides has worked better than any other approach I've tried.

Why do you require ‘smart people’ to agree in order to construct rules for yourself? Are you unable to think for yourself? Even if we ignore the fact he is experiencing moral panic over orange juice, this tweet is the literal equivalent of saying ‘I am cattle, I belong to the herd and I enjoy watching my wife sleep with other men’ (respectfully)

Whilst true in mythology, it still has a negative bearing on your attractiveness (as a man) in the eyes of a female whilst the same rule is not reciprocated - a woman’s social presence has 0 bearing on her attractiveness in the eyes of a man. Of course, the lesson here is to never listen to a woman when she tells you what she desires in a man
imo men with limited or no social presence have infinitely more aura nothing to prove
