Yesterday, our Emergency Response Unit took to the roof at London Health Sciences Centre’s Children’s Hospital to bring some smiles to the kids inside.
Rappelling down the side of the hospital, our officers waved to children watching from their windows and reminded them that their community is cheering them on.
For children and families facing some of their hardest days, moments like these can mean so much. A wave. A smile. A familiar uniform showing up just to make their day a little brighter.
We’re proud of our ERU for putting their skills to work in a different way, bringing courage, kindness and a whole lot of smiles to some very special kids. 🙌

Crews responded to 900 block of Lorne Avenue after multiple 911 callers reported black smoke in the area. On arrival engine company confirmed a working fire in a home , Crews quickly deployed a hose line, conducted a primary and secondary search and our checking for extension. The fire is under control, crews still working to fully the fire.
Lorne Ave is a narrow street.

The London Fire Department technical rescue team responded to 1200 block of Jalna Boulevard, for a male who had fallen down an embankment
Crews quickly, assessed the scene and established a system, allowing the patient to be safely packaged and brought up to the embankment to EMS.
The patient was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
The technical rescue team works seamlessly together through throughout the operation, demonstrating excellent teamwork, communication, and technical skills to complete the rescue.

Last night around 9:45 p.m. fire crews were dispatched to a garage fire in the 600 block of Classic Cres. Upon arrival they saw heavy black smoke. Primary & secondary searches were clear. All occupants were out of the home. Fire was knocked down and fire crews cleared at 12:40 a.m. Damage estimated at $200,000. Fire investigators were requested to attend.

🚒 LFD Technical Rescue Team & an engine company responded to the Meadowlily Heritage Forest trail area for a patient who had fallen, struck their head and was unable to get back up a steep embankment.
Crews reached the patient, established a low-slope anchor and hauling system, and safely brought her back to the main pathway before handing her over to EMS for further care.
