Canada watching us botch a lethal injection
BREAKING: Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee is halting the state’s remaining execution for 2026 and ordering a third-party review after officials fail to execute death row inmate Christa Pike.
Pike received two syringes of lethal injection Wednesday night but remained alive and could be heard snoring, according to her attorneys and media witnesses. Her legal team filed an emergency motion to stop the execution as the situation unfolded.
Pike was later transported to an off-site medical facility.
Lee says the state has a responsibility to ensure executions are carried out legally, constitutionally, and effectively.

Hezbollah releases a statement declaring, without evidence, that Israeli security service Mossad engineered Tuesday’s attacks.
The group falsely claims that Jews disproportionately survived the attacks and were told not to come to work.
In fact, Jews disproportionately died in the attacks. Jews comprise 2.4% of the U.S. population and about 15% of those who died in the attack were Jewish.

Donna Spera, who has made it down from the South Tower’s 78th-floor Sky Lobby, describes the scene as a “gore floor.”
Over 200 people were gathered in the Sky Lobby when the second plane crashed into the South Tower, dousing almost everyone in jet fuel as the ceiling and walls caved in. The room is a “sea of dismembered limbs and heads.”
One other survivor describes seeing people burning alive, unable to move, begging for death, as he made his way downstairs.
Spera is covered in burns and is carried from the building.
