The two-year prison sentence for Del Somerville, for the crime of throwing a plastic bottle and swearing at police during a protest against the small boats, is genuinely staggering. A blatant example of two-tier justice. It’s almost as if the authorities are deliberately attempting to provoke some sort of civil uprising.

Judge Tan Ikram CBE is the judge who denied Danny Tommo bail, declaring that he was "satisfied there is a real possibility of an immediate custodial sentence". But Ikram is Deputy Senior District Judge (Deputy Chief Magistrate) for England and Wales. His usual base is Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London. That is where he normally hears extradition cases, terrorism cases, and other high-profile or sensitive work that comes under the Chief Magistrate’s special jurisdiction. He was drafted in to Basingstoke specially to shaft Tommo and has a history of being placed in politically motivated cases. This is despite his being censured by the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office for “perception of bias”, occurring after he had recently given conditional discharges to three women convicted of terrorism-related offences for displaying Hamas paraglider images at a protest. Greater Manchester police tried to bury this footage. This footage is from the night the two brothers were arrested at Manchester airport outside Rochdale police station. A group of Muslims gathered and was heard saying “we can cause riots because we can get away with it and that the “mother f***kers are going to get it” (referring to the police) they then proceeded to pelt the police station with eggs. Not a single police officer confronted the group and not a single arrest was ever made from this incident.
