There are so many stupid sayings in Bitcoin that teach people to be lazy and compliant. “Everything is good for Bitcoin.” “Bitcoin is inevitable.” “No one can change Bitcoin.” They all mean the same thing… relax. Do nothing. Bitcoin will protect itself. That creates a “free-rider problem”. Everyone benefits if Bitcoin stays decentralized and censorship-resistant, but only the people who actually defend those properties pay the price: time, money, risk, public conflict, reputational attacks. Everyone else waits, assuming they will get the protection either way. Combine that with social engineering that makes dissent personally costly, anyone who challenges recognized authority is mocked, isolated and made socially radioactive, until even associating with them feels embarrassing to the weak minded and people begin policing the boundary themselves. And then there are people who anthropomorphize - almost deify- Bitcoin, as if it has agency, a survival instinct and some supernatural ability to protect itself. If you’re excited about bitcoin and used to stupid arguments from fiat land it’s easy for the brain to do this. Free-riding produces passivity. Social punishment makes it self-enforcing. Meanwhile, defending Bitcoin is a diffuse interest. Exploiting it is concentrated, coordinated and highly profitable. That is how a small organized minority defeats a large passive majority.
I want people to really think about how stupid and downright insane the phrase "Everything is good for Bitcoin" is. It's a technology that seeks to separate money from state and prevent the entire parasite class from stealing almost everything from >99% of the planet. This means there is huge incentive by the most powerful people on earth to destroy it by any means necessary. And Bitcoin is not magically immune to every one of their tactics. The most successful to date has been infiltration and subversion and it is everywhere for those willing to look. BIP110 is an expression of an uncaptured network, and its opposition was purely and revealingly concerned with the artifacts of that. Do we need large OP_RETURNs or upgrade hooks for a new op code before Sep 27? Or OP_IF in taproot or an address type not used in over a decade? No - we just don't want upgrades from non-technical, non-economic users that lack consensus as that cannot be *permitted*! So now we are left with the "Bitcoin is permissionless, so you have to let people turn it into file storage" bros becoming irate that we are leaving, once again without permission. The unsalvageable dumspter fire that we spent the last three years fighting, in public, for no-brainer upgrades to, is captured. This has been demonstrated, again clearly to everyone willing to look, as it has become impossible to make progress unless working within the appropriate political channels rather than operate forthrightly in public. That is just another fiat system. Decision making was deferred to captured industry players. Those entities are incapable of doing what is required to separate money and state as they require the state's permission to exist.

Today we witnessed a horrible F4 crash at Miami Homestead for the FARAUSA 250. Helicopter the driver out. He’s ok and in stable condition. Reminder of the risks in the passionate pursuit of speed. ❤️🏎️ Stay safe while pushing yourself to greatness! ⛑️🫡 @saddingtonrace

Unfortunately, I have to disagree w/@Shireh0dl. BIP-110's failure to activate proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that BTC is captured by the mining cartel w/tradfi behind them....there is NO chance for plebs to stop this at this point. You can be sure WHEN (not if) govts apply pressure, your UTXOs won't go anywhere unless it is to a govt APPROVED address. How long before they lock up your 'stale' UTXOs forever? Does that sound like 'Bitcoin' to you? Fortunately, Bitcoin, and the 'Bitcoin Ethos' are alive and well on the Blake2b chain...XBT. We FIRED the cartel, and are working to ensure that Bitcoin operates OUTSIDE of the FIAT system.
It pains me to watch this video. There's still time to fix things, guys! Bitcoin-sha256 vs Bitcoin-blake2b

You are not exiting fiat, and you are not buying Bitcoin either. You are buying spamcoin and getting into CSAM, something WORSE than fiat. Remember that.
Don't be the one left behind. Buy Bitcoin.

Thank you for your response. This has not been an easy 3 weeks and I cannot go back and undo or unsay anything. All I can do is own it, learn from it, and move forward. With that being said, you are correct. I committed to 30% or less and basically hovered over that mark to varying degrees the vast majority of the time and that is objectively true. Furthermore, and what I think your post is calling attention to is that... I muddied the waters during that time and then called you guys dishonest for pointing out that I was above my targeted range when you were in fact right. This is what I think is truly problematic and what I want to acknowledge and take ownership of and work to make amends for. In hindsight, you guys were right for calling me out for being over the target range and instead of just really tightening the reigns and getting the pool unquestionably below 30%, I created confusion and said you guys were lying and that was wrong of me to do. I don't think there is anyway we can all work together and be on the same page without me fully owning that and apologizing for it. And so, I do.

Call it what it is... a slot machine with a Bitcoin ticker slapped on it. Nobody needs to bet on whether Bitcoin will be up or down 15 minutes from now. No where near calling it investing. No wealth building or creating anything... they are just taking boredom, desperation, and dopamine to figure out how to monetize the hell out of you. We spent years telling people they needed to become better investors, but instead we give them a new button to mash every 15 minutes until all their money is gone. This isn’t financial innovation, but more like the financialization of self-destruction. smh

In late 2023 my life fell apart completely. Lost both jobs. Girlfriend of ten years left. Grandpa died. My mom was sick in a way that had been consuming me for years. I got Bitcoin in 2010, understood the protocol, and then basically forgot about it. 13 years later, at rock bottom, I'm in the shed and find an old hard drive. At @PorcFest 2024 I meet the guy who can help me recover it. Weeks later, in Colorado, it's done. Almost 14 years to the day, I recover the BTC I put on it. Broke and alone → financially stable for life. January 2025 I finally got mom into a home. That summer I moved to Tysons, started working out of @Strategy's Hub, built a whole new life and community in the DC area. At @PorcFest 2025, the same event where my life turned around the year before, I got the call. My mom was gone. October 31, 2025. Whitepaper day. I made the first commit on Bitcoin Commons (@BtcCommons), a ground-up alternative Bitcoin node written in Rust, built from a formal specification of consensus rules that has never existed before. I kept building. The specification and implementation co-evolved through the winter. Governance research published January 2026. Alpha shipped May 7, 2026. I just got back from Manila. I'm going to marry her. Bitcoin saved my life. I'm spending it making Bitcoin harder to kill.

I’ll answer your question once you answer mine, that’s fair, right? Is it true or false that Bitcoin Core changed the OP_RETURN to 100,000 bytes, exactly the same bytes as the BSV hardfork, yes or no?
