My family surname was first recorded in the late 1100’s when the wealthy started using them. My Great Grandfather fought in WW1. My Grandfather was a pilot in WW2, he lost his 3 brothers in the war, I never knew them. My Great Grandmother never recovered from the loss. My Father was a pilot in the RAF for 20 years. My mother was in the WRAF until she was pregnant with me. My husband’s recent family history is similar to mine but has Scottish on his Mothers side. We are not the face of Modern Britain to @Keir_Starmer or his government. My children are not the face of Modern Britain, their safety and future is irrelevant to him. My family history replaceable and erasable, our contribution deemed worthless. I am at a complete loss for words to describe how I feel at this moment; to say I have never felt more betrayed in my life is an understatement. Yesterday we had full council and I seconded the Restore Britain motion to remove gender-neutral / inclusive language from all WCC owned facilities and also ensure women had safe, single-sex spaces provided to them. As is becoming the norm, the Lib Dem leader, Cllr Boad, tabled an amendment, seconded by the Labour Leader, Cllr Feeney, which changed the whole ethos of the motion and turned it in to some mega-woke whitewash! Following the debate, we moved to the vote and the Conservatives supported all of the left-wing parties in voting for the amendment, which we then voted against and so the motion overall failed. So, the end result was that we didn't get our motion through, but neither did the Lib Dem's, with their hijacked nonsense.

Millions of young British men and women are looking at the lives their parents were able to build and wondering whether they will ever have the same opportunities. The answer for many is a resounding NO. Buying a home has become vastly more difficult. Often impossible. Starting a family is increasingly expensive. Graduate jobs are fiercely competitive. Taxes are ludicrously high. Rent is outrageous. Public transport, particularly in London, is filthy and costs a bomb. Modern Britain is not working for young Brits. After encouraging millions of them to attend university, the state sends many of them into working life carrying enormous student loan balances. Then it charges them outrageous interest on top. It’s a tax, a graduate tax. It is a scam. Restore Britain believes it is all fundamentally wrong. It is backwards. Today we have announced, with a full policy document launch, that a Restore Britain Government will abolish interest on student loans for British nationals resident in the United Kingdom. And importantly, our policy would apply not only to interest charged in the future, but also to interest already accrued. We are not, YET, proposing that graduates shouldn't repay the cost of their education. But government should not be making that mountain higher and higher through accumulated interest while our young people are trying to build their lives. Every pound swallowed by that unnecessary debt servicing is money that cannot eventually go towards a house deposit, starting a business, raising children or building savings. A fitting comparison for the wider country's debt, too. This policy is part of something much bigger for Restore Britain. Generational fairness. We cannot leave young people a country in a worse state than the one handed to us. That is why we have announced our newest policy. Abolish student-loan interest. Let repayments actually repay the debt. Give young Brits a fighting chance to build something of their own.

Lost. 2017: Stood again. Lost. 2019: Stood again. Internal polling initially placed him first. Election day: finished third. The people of Portsmouth South rejected him three times. Yet he remained Council Leader. Remained on the National Executive. Remained Lord Mayor. The machine protects its own. Failure gets rewarded. Contempt goes unpunished. THE VERDICT Documented fact.
