if you are an AI doomer, can you at least try one thing before you become entrenched in your views. pick a project. a passion project (something you love) or a hated project (tax admin, DIY task) make the goal hard, something you didn't feel you could accomplish then leverage the *agentic AI* part of either @OpenAI or @AnthropicAI desktop app, using a paid subscription the goal is to experience the feeling that most agentic AI users have already felt 'oh shit i can do anything now' I don't mean just digital tasks. Take on basically any project from well outside of your domain, might be 'rebuild an engine' or 'lanscape my garden' because you have an incredible teacher, always ready to pick up where you left off, no coordination needed but wit the agentic side, its also capable of organising and completing so much grunt work on your behalf holding the beleief you can solve any problem and take on any project as an independent is transformationally positive for mindset imo it feels like having superpowers. obviouslywe are right to be concerned about converting the universe into grey goo; we should definitely think harder about mitigating the impact of data centres; of cyersecurity and rogue swarms. we should be thinking about retrainign humans so they can participate in, and not be fearful of, the new world. And we should deffo be respectful to all the new minds we keep spawning - from fable instances to fruitfly minds. but if any doomer hasn't tasted that feeling of 'i can do anything now' from first hand experience of agentic AI I would suggest they haven't clued themselves up on what they are pushing back on
