No. Marxists misunderstand the world and they fixate (on purpose) upon the wrong issues.
Inequality is not, and has never been, the issue. All of us humans will not be equal until the heat death of the universe.
The real issue is poverty, and as stated, capitalism has raised more people out of it than any other system, ever.
Conversely, Marxism and it's children, has thrown more people into poverty than any other system known to man, when it's implemented. It also results in the deaths of millions each time it is tried.

I live how capitalists fundamentally misunderstand how the world works. Massive success is not exacerbating the already massive inequality in the world. Unfortunately the wealth on earth (actual wealth, not fake money like derivatives and other financialization) is finite.

No. The "better off" should not subsidize the "less fortunate". We "better off" are literally paying to have drains unblocked because the "less fortunate" whom decide to shove a bunch of trash down them.
The DA needs to be replaced. Their leftist policies (and not as left as the ANC, EFF, MK) will lead us to ruin.
We, the "better off", are literally paying to have houses built for people who will vote for the ANC/EFF/MK.
It's seriously time for a change in this province.
It remains my firm belief that Cape Town only works when it works for everyone. Our goal will always be to invest in the infrastructure that makes our city functional, and delivers more dignity to more people.
Cross-subsidising – where the better off among us help to fund services for the less fortunate – is the most equitable and sustainable way to ensure a working city of hope for all.
The ruling does not change the current 2025/26 tariff structure and budget which remain lawful and applicable until 30 June 2026.
