The protocol that blocked $50M in hacks just lost $3.8M through a hole in its own plumbing
$3,865,021 left NEAR Intents at midnight and 22 minutes later it was sitting in KuCoin
By 6:23am it was BTC
Let's rewind a bit…
Three days ago NEAR Intents was the hero
Their SHIELD product blocked $50M in laundering attempts from the Bitget hackers
Bitget's CEO praised them as a model for the industry
Then
@zachxbt posted the flow chart
$3.86M in BSC-USD walked out of their own BSC wallet
Seven transfers all split across six fresh wallets, then fed into KuCoin in tidy 100 and 250 BNB chunks
Small enough to look like ordinary volume honestly
So somebody who clearly knows what they're doing
101 ETH went out then 7.02 BTC bridged at 6:23:53am
NEAR confirmed it too
Apparently a bug where their Omni deposit infrastructure met their smart contract
Says it’s been patched and law enforcement has been notified and that users will be compensated in full
Eleven networks still dark while they finish the fix
They moved fast and they’re eating the loss which is the right move
But here’s the ironic part
They built a risk engine to decide whose money was dirty
Screened $50M of somebody else's funds then froze $503K and waived their bounty so Bitget's users could be made whole
The hole was in their own deposit plumbing the entire time
SHIELD inspects the money moving through the pipe but nobody was inspecting the pipe
The numbers keep racking up in 2026 and there seems to be no end to the bleeding
