Validators are now upgrading and synchronizing for the coordinated restart. Please continue to wait for the separate all-clear before submitting transactions. Update: Mainnet restart upgrade v2.1.5.0 is now available. Validators are upgrading and synchronizing their nodes ahead of the coordinated restart. Engineering’s review of yesterday’s logs confirmed that the recovery hard fork completed successfully, including Shard 1 blocks being confirmed by the metachain. However, Shard 1 did not have sufficient consensus votes to sustain block production. The recovery hard fork does not need to be repeated. This clarifies our initial assessment of yesterday’s attempt. The new release improves synchronization for nodes still catching up. Today’s preparation window gives validators more time to bring their nodes online and synchronize, with the focus on establishing sufficient validator readiness across every shard. We currently estimate that Mainnet will resume block production at approximately 15:30 UTC today, Thursday, September 24, subject to validator readiness and successful completion of the restart. A separate all-clear will be issued for users. Until then, please do not submit or rebroadcast transactions, or use EGLD and ESDT deposit and withdrawal routes through exchanges or bridges. Update: Mainnet will remain paused overnight as we prepare the next recovery window. Today’s restart did not complete because the allotted window was too short for enough Shard 1 validators to synchronize and transition into the new epoch alongside the rest of the network. An epoch change occurred during the attempt, so we are updating and testing the recovery software to account for that transition. We aim to make the updated release available tomorrow afternoon UTC, Thursday, September 24, followed by a longer activation window, tentatively 8–12 hours. This will give validators more time to upgrade and synchronize, with the next restart attempt expected within that window. These timings remain tentative, subject to successful testing and validator readiness. We will communicate confirmed timing and issue a separate all-clear once recovery is complete.
