A breezy and showery day in Maryland with the Nor’Easter. No big deal for @RhettNFL and me in the booth, much bigger deal for @cghendy on the field who was great as always.
Also great, the 4-0 start for UCLA. As of this post only the three service academies rush for more yds/game than UCLA (282)…and tied with Florida for FBS lead in rushing TDs (18). All 3 of their main RBs scored in the 2Q. Bruins added two picks 6s in the 3Q. Highlights from our @BigTenNetwork broadcast here of those plays which were part of a 54-3 win at Maryland.

Always excited to get assigned a UCLA broadcast for Big Ten Network because I get to see one of my guys…the great @joshlewinstuff. He’s gonna have a lot of fun on Bruins radio broadcasts this year but he’ll always be loved in the DFDub! Here’s hoping our meet up sends good vibes out on this final MLB weekend to the Rangers!

Bob Pettit still shares the record for most points in an NBA Championship clinching game w/ Giannis. Pettit had 50 in a Game 6 win for the St. Louis Hawks in the 1958 Finals, the only team besides Boston to win a title between 1957 and 1966. RIP to one of the legends of the game.

Did some serious sportsing with @expo1310 yesterday in Montreal…in attendance for the UCI World Cycling Championships. We saw the men’s and women’s time trials from the Place Jacques Cartier area of Old Montreal. Saw one of the greatest time trialists in the history of the sport, Remco Evenepoel win a 4th straight World TT title. Saw him flying into a corner going one way and going full gas uphill coming back. Very rare the UCI World Championships come to North America so had to make the effort to go to this amazing city to see some of it.

Best non work thing I did in 36 hours in Eugene…ran on Pre’s Trail, a 4ish mile soft surface trail dedicated to one of America’s greatest distance runners Steve Prefontaine. Beautiful setting and as a runner it’s something you gotta do when there. Was feeling extra inspired and even had a rare negative split yesterday 🏃😀

A lot of this info has been out there and people are aware of many of the names but this will be the entirety of Dusty May’s coaching staff with the Mavs this season…
A lot of intriguing guys on the staff. As I’ve said in other forums I thought it was important to have a former NBA head coach on staff as a sounding board and Willie Green is a great fit. Joe Boylan coached the summer league team and is clearly a very sharp guy. Garrett Temple carved out a long NBA playing career because he’s an immensely respected locker room guy who should seamlessly transition into coaching and nice to bring Drew Williamson, someone from the Michigan staff and consequently someone who knows Dusty’s system. Excited this is about to get rolling!!!

One of America’s great food halls, Grand Central Market in downtown LA. Yesterday went to Sarita’s Pupuseria for a pork and cheese pupusa and Villa’s Tacos today for pollo and chorizo tacos w/ an agua fresca followed by the phenomenal coffee ice cream at McConnell’s!!!
