Donald Trump is back to attacking me today because the economy has been in a tailspin under his economic mismanagement. And so have his poll numbers. And the last thing he wants — is people holding him accountable. Attack me as you much as you like, Mr. President, I’m not backing down.

Without warning or consultation, Congress just received an $810 million package of pocket rescissions from the Administration.  This is the most recent attempt by this Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to undermine Congress’s Constitutional power of the purse.    This move shows that OMB intentionally withheld these funds for months to execute this unlawful cancellation of appropriations that were approved on a bipartisan basis and signed into law.     Not only is the delay itself an impoundment that was not reported to Congress, but also it is a usurpation of Congress’s appropriations powers.  OMB is an agency of the executive branch.  It does not get to decide which programs are worth funding.   The independent Government Accountability Office has concluded that pocket rescissions are unlawful and not permitted by the Impoundment Control Act. Any effort to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval is a clear violation of the law.   I will work with my colleagues to address these illegal actions.

Our organizations respect the responsibility of federal agencies to enforce the law. At the same time, cattle producers, feedyards, dairies, livestock markets, processors, and other rural businesses depend on a stable workforce to care for animals, protect food safety, and keep the supply chains operating. Sudden workforce disruptions can create immediate animal-welfare, operational, and economic consequences that extend well beyond an individual business. These ICE operations are having a massive chilling effect on the legal, documented, skilled workers that put beef on the table and keep the cattle supply chain moving. Additionally, these types of disruptions will lead to higher beef prices for consumers. Reported impacts to our organizations throughout the past few days have been: - Thousands of fed cattle slated for shipping to processors now delayed, resulting in millions of dollars in lost revenue and additional costs. - Workforce disruptions at numerous supply chain chokepoints such as feedyards, dairies, processors, feed and grain companies, transportation hubs, and community services. These disruptions come at a time of enhanced focus and pressure on the cattle and beef supply chain. They are a costly and unnecessary impact to cattle producers already suffering from unwelcome political interference to both the markets as well as the physical supply chain. Frustratingly, the harm these actions cause to cattle producers last for days and weeks after such operations conclude. We urge federal officials to conduct enforcement actions in a lawful, orderly, and transparent manner; respect due process; and communicate clearly with affected employers and communities.”

.@ConceptualJames, please stop trying to divide the conservative and populist movement. I worked with @VivekGRamaswamy on the Trump 47 Transition. I don't agree with him about everything and he's made some mistakes, especially on immigration issues, but I certainly still support his run for Ohio Governor. If he's not elected, I fear potential disaster for Ohio across the full mine-run of issues. I also support much of the work of @DineshDSouza, even though my views do not align 100% with him either. People seem to have short memories. Dinesh did such pioneering -- and I seem to remember record-breaking -- documentary work exposing Barack Hussein Obama at a critical time. For that alone he deserves a mild form of political canonization. I'm also a fan of his daughter, @MrsDanielleGill and even more so of her firebrand husband @realBrandonGill. I think this concept of a "Woke Right" is a false parallelism that doesn't really exist, which is not to say there aren't some racist people out there. There clearly are. But I'm seeing too many of my allies smeared as racist who are not racist at all. The nuclear family I lead is multi-racial. So I simply won't stand for the smearing and the potential splash-back/sloshing around tarring everyone-in-sight effect of this kind of loose set of politically flailing attacks. It seems like it's all an attempt to get at @VP and encumber his future presidential run in 2028. Nor can VP Vance be inaccurately smeared as racist either, as his wife @SLOTUS is an Indian American. To be clear: My political enemies are the Communists, the Democrat Socialists, the economic Marxists, and cultural Marxists, and the so-called "Progressives." While my mere political rivals are the ordinary Democrats who do not overlap with the prior 5 categories, though that group of Democrats is increasingly a beleaguered minority in that party. Losing this focus (and that careful framing) during the run up to these critical Midterm elections is to miss the mark significantly as to what the challenges of this hour in America.
