Hey Stearns, the Mets sure could’ve used 40 HRs at 1st base huh? 😂😂

I don’t understand how it’s only his 8th season and the Mets were worried about him declining. Hes got at least 6 more 30+ 90+ hr/rbi seasons in him. Idiots.

Pete Alonso is the only player in history to hit 40 home runs in his 1st season in each league. 108 RBI, the most in the American League, and the Mets let him walk. Baltimore paid 155 million and got the best signing of the winter.

Why isnt MLB announcing how stupid Cohen and Stearns were to not offer Pete a contract? Pete hit more HRs than any Met in history in less than 6.5 seasons. It's one of the dumbest decisions in baseball history. Hope the Os fans are enjoying Pete 'cause I'm still upset about it.

Imagine paying your POBO $10 million dollars a season and this POBO didn’t even attempt to resign Pete last fall in the name of run prevention. @StevenACohen2 @Mets

I posted he’d hit 40. Great for him. Happy for him. Sad he’s not a Met. Saw him hit both tonight. I want to cry.

Alonso making that contract look like a bargain. Baltimore paid $155 million over 5 years for exactly this, 40+ homers and games played every day. He had 35 homers by September 13 this season, his first in an Orioles uniform after seven years in Queens. Power hitters who stay healthy and produce like this in year one with a new club are rare. Birdland got the slugger it paid for.
