Odita Aguolu is one of Virginia’s premier breakout candidates heading into the 2026-27 season. The 6’6” wing is entering his senior season at the Miller School of Albemarle in Charlottesville, Virginia, and has shown all the signs of taking his game to the next level. After helping Miller capture its third consecutive state championship, Aguolu took charge this summer at DMV Live, where he emerged as a consistent standout throughout the event. In the first session, Aguolu averaged 22.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 50% from the field and 43% from three-point range on high efficiency. Aguolu was a fierce downhill aggressor, consistently attacking the basket, finishing through contact, and utilizing his athleticism to play above the rim. His perimeter shooting also appeared significantly improved, as he knocked down multiple shots from well beyond the arc. He positioned himself effectively in both the halfcourt and transition, generating fast-break opportunities while finding open spots off the ball for catch-and-shoot threes. As a playmaker, Aguolu made quick reads and delivered timely passes to open teammates, creating opportunities within the flow of the offense. Defensively, he showcased his versatility and length, guarding multiple positions while moving his feet well and applying pressure to opposing ball handlers. With Miller School seeking its fourth consecutive state championship, expect Aguolu to play a major role in leading the charge as he steps into a new leadership position as one of just two seniors.
