In Syria, safe water means health, dignity, and survival

Years of conflict have left millions in Syria without safe water. MSF is repairing water stations, drilling boreholes and building sanitation for returnees and displaced families.

(1/3) In Homs governorate, families who fled the war are returning home to Furqlus and surrounding areas. In May 2026, MSF in collaboration with Homs Directorate of Health (DoH) started supporting Al-Furqlus Primary Health Care Centre (PHCC).

(2/3) MSF team have helped rehabilitate the facility, installed electricity power systems and backups, regular medical and non-medical supplies. It covers the community, serving more than 30,000 returnees and residents.

(3/3) Between May and June 2026, the PHCC received above 2,000 outpatient consultations. MSF has been also supporting Al-Khalediya PHCC in Homs since July 2025, plus the governorate’s only blood diseases centre and blood bank. For people returning home, healthcare is essential.
