I spent a lot of time with Nolan Wells’s mother and father, and they are grieving. Nobody has been able to put forth anything that can explain why their son is not here today. There needs to be more focus on the blunt force trauma to the back of Nolan Wells’s head.

NAACP General Counsel Kristen Clarke: We don't know. Drowning is a diagnosis of exclusion, meaning you have to rule out every other possibility. And so it is hard to figure out how we get from A to Z here, particularly where the autopsy also revealed that there was no water in Nolan's lungs.

Popok on the recent Judge Kelly order:
It turns on the 5th Amendment, not the 1st Amendment, at least for the temporary restraining order, which is now in place for 14 days, to give the judge time to get full briefing.
And a more fulsome record in support of the preliminary injunction hearing, one move up that he's gonna hold probably in the next 2 or 3 weeks.
