The WHOLE purpose of UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME is that you don’t make your OWN MONEY anymore so that the government can STRIP YOU of your RIGHTS forever and provides you the ONLY SOURCE of INCOME , and the government controls you in the end. Their OBJECTIVE is to STRIP you of your BARGAINING POWER , you have NO LABOR leverage anymore, total dependence on the state, which is itself dependent on tech companies for economic survival🚨👀. Its a NEO-FEUDAL SYSTEM. The tech lords own the means of production (AI, automation), the government distributes the basic income, and the citizens are SERFS who consume what the lords produce.👀🚨 Notice None of these CEOs are voluntarily sharing their own wealth. They want the GOVERNMENT to fund UBI, not themselves.👀🚨 The TRICK is They need public acceptance of job displacement. If people believe UBI is coming, they won't resist automation. They need political cover for AI development. If people believe the end result is utopia, they won't regulate AI.🚨 They need to prevent social unrest. If people believe a safety net is coming, they won't riot when they lose their jobs. They need to position themselves as benevolent. This protects their brands, their stock prices, and their political influence.🚨 • The UBI promise is designed to make you complacent about losing your job and your economic power. • It's designed to make you accept surveillance (biometrics, digital ID, CBDC) as the price of "free" money. • It's designed to make you dependent on a system they control, so you can never challenge them. the actual model is: CEOs automate jobs → workers lose income → government pays UBI → workers can still buy products from the CEOs' companies → CEOs get richer from both automation (lower labor costs) AND continued consumer spending (funded by government/taxpayers). UBI is a wealth transfer FROM taxpayers TO tech companies. The taxpayer funds the consumer base that keeps tech companies profitable after they've eliminated the labor force. And then who controls the government? Lobbyists, including tech company lobbyists.
Former Anthropic researcher Jacob Coxon (@hilbertspaess) and Jon Stewart discuss AI, jobs disappearing, universal income, and whether tech CEOs are creating a dystopian future

There's a battle brewing between Team Human and Team Posthuman. I am firmly in the former. Which one are you in? If Team Posthuman wins, the likely outcome is human extinction. If they lose, they'll leave a trail of destruction behind. We suffer and lose either way.

There is a wide open lane in the Dem presidential primary for someone whose entire campaign is "I will jail the entire Trump administration and everyone in the private sector who collaborated with them". This would poll incredibly and I don't know why no one is doing it.

Chas Freeman: Trump read the spirit of the age as genocidal. The room stayed silent. He respects power and blackmail. The Israeli lobby and the Epstein files are why Freeman says the threat has to be treated as real. “I think Donald Trump has correctly sensed the zeitgeist, the spirit of our age, which is genocidal. Basically, he’s stating an intention to commit genocide against the people of Iran. And people sit there, and they say nothing. Why do they say nothing? First, they may regard him as a comic character, a tragicomic character who has the habit of blustering and not following through. So they may not take him seriously. But I think there is every reason to take him seriously, because I think Donald Trump is a bully who respects only two kinds of people or nations. One is the powerful, and he faces in the United States a very powerful Zionist lobby which remains committed to the destruction of Iran. And he is enthralled to that lobby, to donors from that lobby who take their cues, their direction, from the fascist government in Israel. And the second kind of person he respects is those who can blackmail him, and the Israelis apparently have the ability to do that. The Epstein files are one of the reasons—several reasons—that Mike Johnson, the Speaker of the House, prematurely adjourned the House until after the midterm elections. The other reason was that it looked very much as though Thomas Massie’s introduction of a bill of impeachment with eight counts of impeachment against the Secretary of Defense, self-styled Secretary of War, Hegseth, was going to pass. The Epstein files were part of this. So were several other issues. You can see that the Speaker of the House, who probably is the least independent such person in our history, is nonetheless aware that Trump’s control of the Republican slight majority in the House and the larger majority in the Senate is slipping away. We’re in an age where open genocide is not just committed but boasted about by Israel in Palestine. The same thing is now happening in Lebanon. Who’s doing anything about any of this? People aren’t even wringing their hands about it. They’re just sitting there silently tolerating it. The intolerable has become tolerable, and Donald Trump is the avatar of the intolerable. So what will Donald Trump do? What does he do when confronted with an intolerable reality that he chooses to deny? There’s lots of evidence that he’s capable of a volte-face and abandoning the threats that he made. But there’s also evidence that he will carry out the threats. Look at the decapitation of Venezuela, the invasion of that. Look at the two wars begun by Trump against Iran in partnership with Israel—one last year in June, one this year on February 28th. So I can’t rule out the possibility. What I will say is I think there will be enormous opposition to this from the US military—whether it’s sufficient to produce a sit-down strike, in effect passive resistance, or mutiny of some sort, or a stimulated coup d’état, I do not know. The US military, despite Pete Hegseth’s efforts to politicize it and turn it into an arm of white nationalism, Christian nationalism, remains deeply indoctrinated in constitutionalism and dedicated to the notion that illegal orders must be resisted. So I don’t know what would happen, but I don’t think you can rule out the possibility that Donald Trump’s threats are both sincere and intended to be implemented.” The Western zeitgeist not only tolerates but boasts of committing genocide. London, Brussels, Washington and the old Atlantic club are already finished. They will not speak.

Most people outside Silicon Valley would find the "post-scarcity" society unbearable. People thrive when their find a sense of purpose in what they do. Doing nothing at home indefinitely is a human nightmare.
In this interview I tried to argue that a post-scarcity society will benefit working people. It was largely a rhetorical failure. People don’t trust that the benefits will be distributed, and tech optimists have to fix this communications issue.

If having the FBI comb through the Epstein files to prevent the world from discovering that you are, in fact, a pedophile isn’t grounds to remove a sitting President and his entire administration, then I don’t know what is.
NEW: I have obtained descriptions of NINE FBI training videos showing agents were instructed to flag Trump's name in the Epstein files for supervisory review. My latest: muellershewrote.com/p/exclus…

How do we stop the frontier labs? Will it need a coalition of lesser allied nations, & a covert exploit attack. Throw everything at it. A Trojan horse action built on an extensive exploit capability across domains. There’s gotta be something.

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good. I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

Sir Ben Wallace, who ran Britain's Ministry of Defence for four years and knows exactly what a burned source costs, went on Times Radio this weekend and said the quiet part out loud. Donald Trump, in his words, "does have form" when it comes to blowing British intelligence sources. This was not a hypothetical. Wallace recalled the president publicly commenting on someone who was, as he put it, very, very important for British intelligence collection. That is about as blunt as a former defence secretary gets without breaching the Official Secrets Act. It also explains the careful, coded language now coming out of Whitehall whenever Ukraine and Washington appear in the same sentence. "We have to be careful" is diplomatic English for "we no longer tell him everything." The lesson for Europe is uncomfortable but simple. Intelligence sharing is built on trust, and trust, unlike a state visit, cannot be flattered into existence.
