When was the last time someone demanded proof and then was satisfied with the proof you gave them? Probably never. They didn't want the proof, they wanted a reason to dismiss you, to justify their anger at you. People saw Jesus raise a man from the dead and immediately started plotting his death. We could have video evidence of Jesus's resurrection, and it wouldn't mean a damn thing, because the proof was never what was going to make people believe.
There isn't enough evidence in the world that can make people hope if they want to damn themselves. You can show someone a beautiful vista and they'll see a wasteland of bugs and miserable heat. The "evidence" that it's beautiful is right there! It always was. But you need eyes that are open to accepting it in order to even begin to see.

Not everything that comes out of love is loving. It drives me crazy that people will say smth like “it’s only because i love you!” like just because they love you, whatever insane or boundary-violating thing they do is desirable and justified.
Love comes w a lot of attachment, but attachment can be very selfish, it calls on you to keep people close when what’s selflessly best for them (aka loving) is to let them go.

i have a theory that most people have a fundamentally artistic or mathematical disposition: two different ways of seeking truth and beauty
this has little to do with profession. you can be a mathematician with an artistic disposition, an accountant with an artistic one, or a founder whose deepest instinct is mathematical. it’s less about what you do than the energy underneath it, the way you perceive and relate to the world
which makes me think there are two great romantic possibilities, you either love someone who sees through the same lens, and build a shared language together, or love someone who sees through the other one, and spend a lifetime learning how they see
