Korea was one people until 1945. Today the men of the South stand up to three inches taller than the men of the North. Same ancestry, same language, the same height at the start. The border is 160 miles long and 2.5 miles wide. In the North, food comes through the state ration. Rice when there is rice, maize when there is not, and meat on a few holidays a year. In 2012 the army cut its minimum height for a recruit to 4ft 8in, because too few 17 year olds could reach the old one. In the South, meat consumption rose about tenfold in 50 years. Beef, pork, eggs and milk went from luxuries to every day. South Korean women gained 8 inches in height over the 20th century. It is the largest increase recorded for any population on earth. Children who escape from the North are visibly smaller than Southern children of the same age. Fed in the South, the young ones catch up. The older ones are too late. Nobody designed the experiment. But it has 75 million subjects, a genetic control and a hard border, and it has run for 80 years. One side of the wire was fed grain by a government, and the other side ate meat.

The speech does all the work. And within hours, the same media outlets that spent four years calling Trump a conspiracy theorist are suddenly very quiet. Here’s what they don’t want you to connect: - Kennedy was assassinated 2.5 years after this speech - The Warren Commission was a joke — even the House Select Committee on Assassinations in 1979 concluded Kennedy was “probably assassinated as a result of a conspiracy” - The files are STILL classified - Trump has been pushing to release them, but the permanent national security state refuses, instead slow-walking the order The timing isn’t random. This isn’t just history. JFK described a permanent national security state that has only grown more entrenched — one that operates beyond elections, beyond accountability, beyond the reach of voters. Kennedy called it “a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific, and political operations.” That machine didn’t disappear when he died. It got even stronger. Trump reposting this isn’t nostalgia. It’s a signal. The same forces JFK warned about are the same forces that tried to destroy Trump — Russiagate, two impeachments, lawfare, media blackout, assassination attempts. The playbook hasn’t changed. Only the names. And now the sitting president just reminded the country who the real enemy has always been. The speech that scared them then is the speech they’re terrified you’ll watch now. Funny how @KingAbdullahII failed to mention how Jordan illegally occupied the West Bank from 1948-1967, formally annexed it in 1950, and ethnically cleansed the territory of Jews in the Old City of Jerusalem. In all that time, they never created a Palestinian state. Then, in 1988, King Hussein, his father, stripped West Bank Palestinian residents of Jordanian citizenship overnight, another illegal move. Now King Abdullah comes to the UN lectures about “de facto annexation” and international law? King Abdullah doesn’t want you to know that that reason they didn’t declare a Palestinian state (and the reason Egypt didn’t either when they controlled Gaza), is because there was never a national identity known as “Palestinian” in the Arab world. This concept only developed with the PLO and Yasser Arafat in the 1960s.

This is the cover of Life magazine, June 12, 1970. At the time, Life was one of the most important publications in the world. The photograph was taken decades before the Intifadas, before Netanyahu, and before Gaza as we know it today. What was the excuse then for putting rifles in the hands of pre-pubescent children and training them to kill Jews? What kind of movement does that to its own kids? Some people would call it child abuse. It was more than that. It was a plan: a deliberate, generational project to pour Jew-hatred into children while they were still young enough to absorb it as truth. To make it visceral. To make it feel like belonging. You can find similar photos and videos today of children even younger than these “Tiger Cubs,” still being trained the same way. Some of them are almost certainly the children and grandchildren of the boys on that cover. This is what intergenerational hate looks like. This is how a society produces generation after generation with Jew-hatred running through their veins. It was taught early. It was indoctrinated as soon as Israel was reestablished as the indigenous Jewish homeland. . That is part of how October 7 became possible. When Jews have been dehumanized from childhood, young men can rape, behead, torture, and murder civilians and still believe they are doing something righteous. We all want peace. We all want a life that is livable for Israelis and Palestinians. None of this is good. It is painful. But if the people who never stop condemning Israel will not look at what we are actually facing — how old this is, how deep it was planted, how deliberately it was passed from parent to child — it is hard to see how this ends well. For nearly three years, CPJ helped push the incendiary narrative that Israel was systematically slaughtering journalists. Now CPJ just announced that it has removed another 22 people from its database. Twenty were removed after new research established “engagement in combat," meaning terrorism. That’s on top of 8 it had already removed after determining they were Hamas or PIJ combatants. So CPJ has now removed 28 supposed journalists for literal participation in hostilities. And understand how absurdly narrow CPJ’s standard is. Affiliation with Hamas or PIJ doesn’t disqualify you. Even membership in an armed group doesn’t automatically disqualify you. CPJ only draws the line at actual engagement in combat. Yet even by that ridiculous standard, 28 names failed their test. The review began after Hamas and PIJ themselves published obituaries identifying supposed “journalists” as combatants. And those obituaries keep coming. CPJ’s credibility should be in tatters — for good.

Ok, we now have the actual text of the Greenland deal (whitehouse.gov/briefings-sta…), so we can say how it compares to the existing 1951 arrangement and who, between Trump and Denmark, lied the most in their framing of it. Long story short - which may surprise some - the Danes lied the most: Trump is pretty much correct in saying that this new deal grants the US control of Greenland. Let's look into what changed compared to the 1951 deal. 1) This is now a permanent arrangement: whereas the existing 1951 deal only lasted as long as NATO existed, this one "does not have an end date and may only be amended by mutual consent." It even survives a hypothetical future independence of Greenland: in that event, Denmark and Greenland must ensure that the independent Greenlandic state "affirmatively assume[s] all of the rights and obligations of the Kingdom of Denmark specified in this Agreement." 2) In the 1951 agreement, the US could set up bases only where both governments agreed, and only on the basis of NATO planning. The new deal locks in three bases: the US can "modernize and expand its activities" at Pituffik, its only base in Greenland until now, and "shall be allowed to establish an additional Defense Area at Narsarsuaq and Mestersvig." Further bases beyond these 3 can be justified by the defense of "the American continent," a US interest rather than a NATO one. Also, quite subtle but this is interesting: Article IV(iii) says that "the United States may establish additional defense areas in Greenland" and that consultations are then held "to decide implementation details based on mutual agreement." What this means is that the principle of a new base is automatically granted and only the implementation details require agreement. Article VII also gives the US "the right to raise concerns regarding construction, or change of use" of any building near a US base, after which the parties decide together what to do. Which means that the US has a say over civilian planning around its bases. 3) On US military movement across Greenland, the wording change between the 1951 agreement and this new one is quite funny. The 1951 text said (Art. V(3)): the US "may enjoy... the right of free access to and movement between the defense areas through Greenland, including territorial waters, by land, air and sea," but only "in accordance with general rules mutually agreed upon and issued by the appropriate Danish authority in Greenland." The new one says: "the United States of America shall enjoy... the right of free access to and movement between the Defense Areas through Greenland, including the Territorial Waters, by land, air and sea." That's it: "May" becomes "shall," and the US military movement no longer has to follow rules "issued by the appropriate Danish authority in Greenland." The US also gets something new on top: "undersea access to and movement within the Territorial Waters," i.e. submarines. 4) Non-NATO exclusion: non-NATO states are barred from military installations or a persistent presence in Greenland unless all three parties approve, giving the US an effective permanent veto. The 1951 deal had no equivalent clause. 5) Investment screening: this is entirely new. "States or investors from a state that is not a member of NATO, a NATO partner, or an EU member state" (i.e. Russia, China, India, the Gulf States, etc.), "shall not be allowed to have (i) control, (ii) significant influence, or (iii) access to non-public information...within Particularly Sensitive Sectors or Activities in the territory of Greenland (including the Territorial Waters), unless agreed between the Parties." Again, it basically means that the US has a permanent veto over who can invest in strategic sectors in Greenland, as far as non-NATO or EU states are concerned. 6) Lastly, in stark contrast with the 1951 deal, the framing of the deal changes significantly: this new deal is largely framed around the US. The 1951 agreement existed only "for the benefit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization." The new one lists the defense of "the American continent" as an objective, celebrates "the irreplaceable role" of the United States military as well as "the United States' indispensable historical and ongoing contributions to the security and defense of Greenland," and names the establishment of Trump's "Golden Dome" missile defense system as a key goal. So, to sum up: - The US secured a permanent military foothold that even an independent Greenland would inherit whether it likes it or not - The US now has veto power over any non-NATO military presence in Greenland, and over who can invest in its strategic infrastructure and resources (beyond NATO and the EU) - Denmark signed away its say over the principle of new US bases, with only the right to discuss the "implementation details" - Danish authorities no longer set the rules for US military movement across the island - And all of it is now justified by the defense of "the American continent" I don't know in which universe this even remotely "recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom and the Greenlandic people's right to self-determination," as Danish PM Mette Frederiksen put it (stm.dk/en/press/press-releas…). Yes, the preamble of the text cynically "reaffirms" Danish sovereignty but, in my book, when you let a foreign country put bases on your soil, move its troops without following your rules and veto who else can come in, in perpetuity, after it spent two years threatening to take you by force, the word for that is anything but "recognized sovereignty" 🤷

Was told this morning that Principal Kline had a community leader at Drake middle School escorted off premises by police officers for attempting to have prayer at the pole with students today.
