In February 2025, Bybit lost $1.5B in the biggest hack crypto has ever seen.
Within a day, Bitget sent over 40,000 ETH to help it keep withdrawals running. It didn't need to. Bybit is its competitor. Bybit paid it back within days, and no user lost a dollar.
What goes around comes around, they say.
1.5 years later, the roles are reversed.
Bitget lost $351M yesterday, and Bybit is the first one offering to help. It's updating LazarusBounty, the tracker it built after its own hack, to follow where Bitget's stolen funds go. Bitget believes Lazarus is behind this one too.
This is the part of crypto we should keep working on: coordinating the response when these groups strike.
Attackers work as organized groups. Over $684M has been stolen this September alone, and every hack teaches them something new.
The industry only works if we defend it the same way.
Respect to Ben and the Bybit team.
Bybit team is standby to help in any ways that we can. Bitget helped us when we had the hack.
we are updating
lazarusbounty.com/en/ to help Bitget to capture and trace the stolen fund movement.
