🚨NEW: A few notable developments in crypto today: 📌 @Ondo partnered with @BlackRock to launch three onchain investment portfolios using strategies developed by the asset manager. For now, they’re available only to eligible investors outside the U.S. 📌 @ARKInvest is tokenizing its venture fund on Ethereum with @Securitize. 📌 The @FederalReserve proposed two new stablecoin rules under the GENIUS Act. One sets out reserve, capital, custody and risk management requirements for issuers it supervises. The other lays out how banks it oversees can apply to issue stablecoins. 📌 @CFTC staff clarified that registered derivatives firms can hold certain customer investments as tokens and use blockchain records to meet federal recordkeeping rules.

🚨NEW: SEC Commissioner @MarkUyedaUS says the agency dropped several crypto cases inherited from the prior administration because continuing to defend legal interpretations it was preparing to reverse would have “hurt the SEC’s credibility.” “I’m not about to have our litigators…stand up in court” as the commission prepares to make a “180-degree change” in its interpretation, he said. Uyeda also called the SEC’s Innovation Exemption for tokenized securities a “pilot” that could create “a lot of potential opportunities” for new entrants and traditional financial firms.

🚨Revenge spend: Following the demise of the Clarity Act, Fairshake is gearing up to make its biggest spend of the year: $30 million against Sherrod Brown as he takes another shot at returning to the Senate, where, if successful, he could reclaim his seniority and return as chair or ranking member of the Senate Banking Committee. 🚨NEW: The @CFTC has submitted its crypto rulemaking to the White House for review. The proposed rule is titled “Regulation Crypto Asset Transactions and Regulation Crypto Asset Markets.” It comes just two days after @ChairmanSelig said the agency was “locked in and ready to ship rules” following the Senate’s failure to advance crypto market structure legislation.
