I found the "higher-up in the White House". And he's pretty high up.
Sens. Cornyn and Tillis both say someone higher-up in the White House is influencing and ruining any deal on Todd Blanche. Tillis said he doesn’t think it’s the president.
“If this were just between me and Todd Blanche, we would have worked this out, but, apparently, he’s getting some pushback from higher ups at the White House. I don't know who, but it doesn’t need to be this hard,” Cornyn said.
Tillis told me “I don’t know who it is — I’m just trying to get them out of the way so we can get the president his AG.”

It used to be Republicans and Democrats both wanted America to succeed, they just had different ideas of how to get there. At Least that was the adage.
I'm not sure that's the case anymore.
Democrats will do ANYTHING to "stick it to Trump", even if it means higher costs, lower wages, and a less safe America.
A great example of this is the fraud we're seeing uncovered. Any rational American would support finding and ending waste, fraud, and the abuse of our public benefits.
Not Democrats. The California legislature literally passed the "Stop Nick Shirley ACT" because they'd rather conceal the fraud than allow a messaging win for "the other side".
It's shameful.
Now, we're seeing @AFergusonFTC and the @WHFraudTF being STONEWALLED by blue state governors from uncovering fraud within the SNAP system.
Democrats have allowed TDS to blind them from what matters most: serving their constituents. It's sad, really.
The American people deserve better.
